Forums - Microsoft Discussion - What if Microsoft made a super smash clone? Would you buy it?

Serious question for you Microsoft fans: How have none of you mentioned the idea of putting Avatars in the game? In fact, go completely toward the Avatar route and then slowly add in costumes for the other characters and use your franchise characters as bosses. After a few generations start implementing in the franchise characters naturally. It would be the mirror image of what Smash Bros did, but it would give people the chance to create their own characters. Go beyond what Smash does with the Miis and truly give the players control over their play style.

Oh...and one more question: who would you have develop the title? Sakurai is pretty awesome and has a great team and there's just no way Smash would have been possible without him. Is there a studio you would trust to make this the best Smash clone/killer out there?

I think that if this games existed, it would be the smallest roster of characters ever in a fighting game.

Rare characters alone can make there own fighting game. Not including everything else MS owns.

OP

Banjo Kazooie (Banko Kazooie)

Conker (Conkers BFD)

Joanna Dark (Perfect Dark)

Elvis (Perfect Dark)

Rash (Battletoads)

Zits (Battletoads)

Pimple (Battletoads)

Master Chief (Halo)

Arbiter (Halo)

Marcus Fenix (Gears)

Cole Train (Gears)

Kameo (Kameo)

Ori (Ori and the Blind Forest)

Juelz (Recore)

Jago (Killer Instinct)

Sabre Wulf (Killer Instinct)

Kiam (Lost Odessey)

Juno (Jet Force Gemini)

Anything from (Viva Pinata)

Marius Titus (Ryse)

List can go on.

Xbox doesnt need a Smash game as they have there very own inhouse fighting game filled with amazing and unique characters. Id say it would do alot better than PS All Stars which had nothing but 3rd party characters with afew being PS owned/made.

That last statement is incorrect, ps all stars had mostly PS owned/made characters with only a few being third party. You got it the wrong way around.

I had no idea most of the characters were PS created like Fat Princess, but that is good to know. My point is, if the 3rd party characters are more the main attraction than the 1st party characters with the exception of afew, its not going to do the game justice.

I know Smash is doing something similar recently however Smash was created and made famous by Nintendos very own characters.

Sure as long as it's developed by Nintendo.

That won't ever happen.

i dont would buy it, if i would have any interest to play something like this i would buy a switch but there is no interest....

Apart from Master Chief, almost every other well-known character in an Xbox smash game would be better known for their entries on a Nintendo platform. In my opinion, it would make a lot more sense for Microsoft to just collect royalties from Nintendo and offer the following additions to the next Nintendo smash game or as DLC for the current Smash:

- Master Chief
- Joanna Dark
- Jet Force Gemini twins
- Banjo and Kazooie
- Conker

These characters would actually fit really well into a Nintendo Smash game. It would help Nintendo also because I really think that they are scraping the bottom of the barrel now in terms of finding new characters to add to future Smash games/dlc. If Microsoft was smart, they could use the hype generated from having these characters in Smash to reboot some of these franchises on the Xbox platform. It would be a mutually beneficial partnership between the two companies.
