Sucker Punch hasn't released anything since 2014, unless something has gone very wrong Ghosts of Tsushima i would expect that it is released before TLOU2.

It's a new IP though (always take the longest to make) and Sucker Punch isn't as big as some other Sony studios. For comparison, this is the amount of employees some Sony studios have on LinkedIn:

  • Sucker Punch: 186
  • Naughty Dog: 442
  • Guerrilla Games: 283

Holy hell, ND 442?? There’s no way that represents just one team.

Did u see why it said for SSM perchance?

only one out of that I believe is Dreams. No way Death Stranding is coming before 2020 either xD

Well ... yeah ... I said that the Lost Legacy expansion was way harder to make, did I not?

Fairs fair bro, I'm not saying it won't happen, I'm just more in the "TLOU 2 comes out first camp", not that you're wrong.

Oof, my opinion is very unpopular in this thread indeed

Guess that means Ghost will probably come out first. Not that that was ever out of the realm of possibility to begin with, I just don't believe it will.

My point was just that Sucker Punch have just had a lot more time to work on their game. I'm cool with either of them coming out first though.

Yep, same. I can't wait to see what something like Ghost might look like on a PS5 @_@

First Light and Second Son came out in 2014. Uncharted 4 came out 2016 and Lost Legacy came out 2017. And though TLOU2 was revealed first, we saw gameplay for both games at the same time.

Edit: and admittedly, I didn't realize The Drake Collection was outsourced

And Naughty Dog staff includes a technology team that does more than just work on Naughty Dog games.  They're similar to Santa Monica Studios in that regard.  Can't really compare employee numbers straight up.

I can believe that. If they are giving release windows though that probably means those are all 2019 games, which mean The Last of Us Part II is probably a 2020 game.

Kinda wondering if they are going to do a cross gen release for both ps4 & ps5 at this point...

I think it depends entirely on when they release the PS5 and if it is backwards compatible. If it is BC, like many expect, then cross-gen will be pointless. They can probably do something similar to what the Xbox One X does with upping the resolution and/or framerate of games. I think they filed a patent for that earlier this year as well. They could just market a better resolution and framerate for the game on PS5.

Also, if the PS5 releases Holiday 2020, I expect The Last of Us Part II to be out by Spring 2020. Make it the last major exclusive for the PS4, similar to how the first one was for the PS3 (going to ignore Beyond: Two Souls and Gran Turismo 6).

At least that's what I believe.

GOT and Dreams will likely be released in 2019. Both games have been in development for quite a while. I can see Death Stranding and TLOU2 being cross gen, though.
