Forums - NSFW Discussion - Unattractive males face rejection by society?

I am not sure about this. Salsa singer Marc Anthony is one of the most unattractive people in the planet and he is immensely successful, more so than most singers with model looks

Confused as to what is being used to distinguish normal from ugly? What sort of scale are we using here? Conventional attraction vs those with unblessed features such as being bald? But a person can still be hot that way too, so, we need examples. Otherwise this is vague premise we cannot answer.

Define what you deem ugly and then define what constitutes someone being a loser... are we talking someone who looks like Sloth from The Goonies who lives on disability because no one would hire them? Or are we talkin’ a dude with a nose too large, ears like an elephant but face like a rat? Even then Adam Driver isn’t considered a loser.

Aside from Marc Anthony Adam Driver is a great example....his looks haven't stopped him from getting huge roles.

He’s a very bizarre looking dude. However, for whatever reason I find that many women find him physically attractive which confuses me XD Maybe he’s not my type or something but he definitely would not fall under the guidelines of conventional attraction.

I think confidence, good grooming, a good workout routine and talent can negate bad looks in a lot of cases.

Hmmm, I don't find males attractive.....So does that mean I should think they're all losers :P

If you replace male with females then I would say I think that's the case.

And one more thing, I'm 29 now, I still have contact with a lot of people I went to school with. Most of the really popular people are now over weight, multiple children and working for the minimum wage. The ones who were considered "Losers", have good jobs, their own house and usually travel alot. That's my personal observation anyway.

I disagree pretty much completely with the o p. The big determining factor in success, whether that be success in employment, personal relationships, or whatever, is self confidence. If one lacks self-confidence, all that stuff in the OP applies. That is true regardless of the person's physical attractiveness.

With that said, I will grant it is probably a little bit easier for an attractive person to maintain their self confidence. There are going to be more ego-boosts for an attractive person, and that's certainly helpful.

I don't get what being self confident does for one outside of feeling good about themselves. I mean even if you think highly of yourself that doesn't mean other people will.

That's a scarily simplistic view on society.

It gives off a glow to many kinds of people that makes them more generally likable. There’s a lot of studies on it worth looking at. Though, people like that often repel me because they’re often very annoying. So it doesn’t work on everyone
