People who're not in a committed relationship with a brand.

They should probably ditch it then, it's not like they're selling anything over there anyway. Just leave the market to Nintendo and Microsoft.

Uh... You realize MS's influence is non-existent in japanese gaming space aside from Minecraft, right? Meaning with Sony ditching the Japanese market they can either go Nintendo , mobile, or die. (Since the PC market isn't nearly as big over there)

Yes, that was the joke. Thank you for noticing.

Considering that one PS4 game will have those things, while the other won’t, it sounds more like a developer choice.

What does that mean?

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Fortune has all of the features pulled from the Scarlet release, while at the same time still having the things the Scarlet release has over the Switch version (namely 1080p/60fps and VR Paradise).

Yeah, and as this version is two years old, it shows that the theory all this censorship stuff has to do with Sonys recent relocation to the US is not so far-fetched.

I'm surprised Nintendo doesn't sensor. They wouldn't want to damage their family brand they've work so hard to create. I guess they really want the 3rd parties on board.

nintendo hasn’t censored game content for decades... where have you been?

i guess sony doesn’t want third party support so much.

They literally did both last generation on Wii U and 3DS...

Far-fetched? It's a confirmed fact. There are several examples of publishers and developers saying that their games were changed or cancelled "at request of the platform holder."

Just realized reading the table that the original PS4 version will have more than the updated PS4 version isn't that meant to be the other way around?

... Only on games using first party IPs. They don't censor 3rd parties, and definitely not in Japan

Just remember, when they come for the games we like, the perverts won't defend us. I'm sure violent content or "politically-charged" will be next.

and I am sure you arent just pushing a fear mongering agenda. Censorship sucks and obviously should not happen but lets not jump the gun here.

It's been shown time and time again that these companies will push and push until there's push back. It happened with loot boxes. It'll happen with these new censorship policies. It's not "fear-mongering" when companies like EA exist.
