It's actually not as it scored higher than both Emerald and B/W2.

This is exactly why review scores don't matter

If they keep battles they should show the Pokemon in the world so you don't have random encounters. Also for battles they should keep the option to give the Pokemon berries and other treats so you can avoid having a battle if you want. That's sounds like a nice middle ground. |
Yeah, I agree. That seems fair.
I also hope we have a seamless transition from overworld to battle, so we don't have a black screen in between.
Bet with Intrinsic:
The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

The transitions in Let's go are pretty good.
I think the solution is that they do the same process with normal Pokemon as they do with legendary Pokemon in Let's Go, that is first a battle then the capture-process
The day this happens I'll start another school shooting

I could live with the new encounter mechanic, but given that battling is the key mechanic of the core series so no, that shouldn't be ditched for wild battles. That it was, alongside the non-optional motion controls, was why I've overlooked Lets Go in the first place.

If you play in handled motion you don't use motion controls.
