Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Civilization VI on the Switch is a dream come true.

I've just finished my first game on the Switch (~300 turns) and it runs like a dream. The game really feels like it was meant to be on the Switch from the start. It looks fantastic, sounds fantastic, controls incredibly well (the touchscreen is best of course, but with buttons on the big screen as well, the controls are very easy to get used to and not cumbersome at all).

The first review is very positive as well, a 94/100 from IGN.

This was my most desired game as soon as the Switch was revealed; I'm so happy it actually turned out well.

Anybody else picked it up?

I know I'm going to get it sometime in the next couple of months. I've been jonesing for another Civilization game on a console, because of Civ Revolution. I'm glad it's reviewing well.

I played 1500+ hours on Civ 4 but only have 200+ on Civ 5. I thought Civ 5 was a huge decline from Civ 4. So I am very hesitant in picking it up. It being on Switch has made me think twice but it still is a sequel to Civ 5. Then again Breath of the Wild was a sequel to Skyward Sword and I loved Breath of the Wild. Maybe I will think about getting it later.

From what I saw from gameplay footage it seems to run really well. Civilization always seems like a game best played on PC but they made it work on Switch.

Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true

Why did they release this the same day as pokemon. I will get this before the year is out.

Yeah, I don't know what the thought process there was either. I've had it preloaded got two weeks too.

Isn't it one of those streaming-only games? -_-

No

honestly, i was thinking of getting it. i'm a huge civ fan. but then i discover that the switch version would not include or even be able to add Rise and Fall expension. so i will skip it...

I really need to find time for this and Diablo 3.

I may get it, the lack of online multiplayer is really dumb, but I'll only be using the Switch version for singleplayer anyway if I get it.

I've been so busy with D3 that I haven't even been making time for Red Dead 2. I definitely decided to wait for reviews before ordering Civ VI on Switch because I already have it on PC but if the initial reports are right then it's a no-brainer to get this.
