Early news suggest that SSBU's sell-through will be above my expectations in all regions, but a worldwide sell-through of 10m instead of 8.5m doesn't exceed my shipment range that was up to 12m yet. Better sell-through just means that retailers won't be drowning in as many copies as expected. Which bodes well for shipments beyond this quarter, but this thread is only about the initial quarter, so... do you still believe, tbone?

Ill always believe! The chances were always low but now it still does look possible even if barely.

 

12mil seems like a safe bet as does your 10mil sell thru

 

I see this as the floor from the data we got as of now (ship+digital)

 

[NoA] 5.0mil (has Canada and 2 weeks left)

[Jap] 2.2mil (Shipment is always close and hints say ssbu is selling a great amount)

[Euro] 2mil (Record for highest selling Nin Home Console, and we Know at least France got 500k intial shipment (excludes digital)

[RoW] 1mil

 

We all agree the game will ship no less than 10mil. Without slowing down 12mil-13mil is the most logical guesstimate. But im getting high so of course im going with 15mil, but i be happy and see 13.5mil-14mil as the final number if sales continue the way they are... AKA 15mil is still a possibility thats BOLD but not impossible

Smash sales are insane, and even if they don't hit 15M in a month, it's still amazing to see the numbers aren't that far off with this prediction

As I said in the thread with the NA numbers:

Going by what we know, Japan had 1.2m in 3 days and NA had over 3m in 11 days (keep in mind it's not 3m but a figure more than it), no numbers from EU yet other than UK and Spain's first 3 days I'll make a guess of possible 6-7m WW in 11 days. I'm sure at this point (11 days) EU would have had 1m at least which with the 1.2m from Japan is an easy 2m+, just adding a flat 3m would prop things up to 5m with out knowing the units in thousands moved as we only really know the 200k on top of the 1m from Japan in 3 days I'll guess that what ever is on top of the 1m in EU, 2m in Japan (11 day mark) and 3m in NA plus the rest of the world figures could push the total at this point passed 6m.


Update: We now know in the second week a further 406k was moved in Japan giving 620K on top of the 1m, 7m WW at this point is guaranteed for the month and likely has been passed in under 2 weeks.

Sold-through number+Digital should be like this at the end of December.
US = 4.5m (3m last reported number)
Japan and Asians = 2.5m (1.6m last reported number)
Europe and ROTW = 3m (30% higher than the last best selling Nintendo home console game in europe right now)

If Nintendo over-shipped the copies like Odyssey i can see 14-15m shipments like your prediction based on the high sold-through number.
