Excellent ps4 numbers its no doubt the best out there. ps why is everyone expecting switch to explode?

-First black friday with the first potentially good price cut (last year it didn't really had a price cut)
-Japan numbers are growing and last year was insane for switch in Japan
-Pokemon may create a bump
-Smash+smash bundle

my guesses.

I wouldn't put too much weight in that prediction tool. Plus these are WW numbers not just USA. 

Is that the €100 off the xbox x for rdr2 promotion pushing it over 100k?

I thought the Switch was still $299 even on BF? I was saying it must be getting ready to explode because our prediction tool had the Switch winning NPD for the month of Oct. I think it will have an amazing holiday though either way!

Yep I know it is WW that is why I said in NA in my comment lol. And well the tool has been pretty darn good for the past few months. So we will see how it works with this month and what changes need to be made to it if any. I like the tool myself.

pretty crazy to think that the 3ds is going to be 8 years old in Feb and it's still pumping out 50k+ units per week for Nintendo, with the huge library of games both DS and 3DS available for it I would think it's rather likely that each one of those 50k sales is going to be rather profitable considering they'll likely buy a few titles to go with the system even if just picking from the Nintendo Select range of €14.99-19.99 software that shit is still printing money almost a decade after its original shaky launch year.

I mean, 50k per week for a year is another 2.5m Nintendo systems in the hands of customers large and small, that's nothing to turn your nose up to when you consider that it's around half the number sold by Microsoft's flagship and only console.

Outside of that I would agree with others that while RDR2 is awesome I didn't expect it to cause a huge spike for either system especially when you think that the smart shopper knows that black Friday exists, I think if you've not bought a ps4 by now then waiting 2-3 weeks isn't going to make a huge difference to you considering how long the system is on the market.

PS4 just a few thousand away from outselling the 3rd and 2nd place consoles combined

Switch outselling the X1 in Japan by 200 to 1. The money earned from the Xbox brand in Japan absolutely can't be enough to justify translating even a portion of the consoles UI into the regions languages.

Well yeah financially I'd say Microsoft lost millions from xbox in Japan this gen but in terms of brand they probably weighed up the options and decided the bad PR from officially pulling out would do more damage to their WW brand then it's worth. 

Next gen they'll be scaled right back in Japan so even if it flops again they won't suffer the same loses as this gen. It's just shocking after the massive Japanese investment they made during the 360 gen. 

Sony says they have sold 86 as of end of september.

VGC has sony at 84M in october.

Am i missing something?
