Going to finish up, because I'm not sure how much I'll be around during the next week.  Maybe a lot maybe not at all.

More hints.

4. a) In Japan this PS1 game was meant to be a response to the Fire Emblem series.  However in North America we got this several years before our first Fire Emblem game.
b)  I think one reason that this game impacted me so much is that it released in North America before Final Fantasy V did.
c)   Made by Squaresoft.

1.  Around 30 years ago, this would have been the easy, shoe-in, #1 choice for best game of all time as voted by Nintendo Power readers.

4. Final Fantasy Tactics?

I'll put hints for my last five games here as well. Probably going to be away for much of the rest of the year.

#5: This strategy RPG game that is set in an alternate history Europe in 1935 takes much of the inspiration for its story from many real-life events that took place in Europe during the first half of the 20th century.

#4: The sun illuminating the home of the gods is just an illusion.

#3: A space combat sim, set 32 years after the events of the first game and tells about the return of the alien race that almost destroyed humanity in the first game.

#2: Dragoons.

#1: A kidnapping goes much smoother than expected, mostly because the victim actually wanted to come along anyway.

^ that was a good post.

Well, I'm nearly done catching up, finally. Gonna hint the next two games as we're approaching day #8.

#9 - Though it is the game that created one of this franchise's most recognizable themes, the song is normally associated with the next home console entry.
#8 - This game ends when you aim to the moon and shoot.

#9 The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past

#8: I recently said in another thread that the 8th game is probably the best objectively speaking, but this one here, the second game, is still my favorite easily regardless. Call it nostalgia, but it just means too much to me personally.

Mario Kart 64?

Mario Kart 64 is right!

#9 Demon's Souls
guessed by Darashiva
platform PS3
release year 2009
developer/publisher From Software/Sony Computer Entertainment/Namco Bandai
genre action
links Wikipedia
last year  #13

Demon's Souls does so much right. It captures great atmosphere, designs it's levels, traps and challenges exactly right to give you a feeling of accomplishment each time you get a step further, is strong with lore. It all works out so well. Not much more to say about it, it just clicks.

2. Legend of Dragoon or Final Fantasy IV
1. Final Fantasy IX
