Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Can Super Smash Ultimate Be the Highest Rated Game of the Gen? (>Botw/GoW/SMO/RDR2)

Considering Smash Ultimate is missing multiple modes, trophies, and it has less new characters (which is understandable), I see 93/94 meta much more than a 97/8. I was right when everyone said RDR2's meta would only be 92-94 and I said 97. Hoping i'm right again.

I'm leaning more towards 94 than 93 myself.

Weren't they just missing 2 minor modes though ? Like Break the targets and Sandbag beating ? That's hardly what I would call missing content.

SBB4 was litteraly missing in the single player department, meanwhile Ultimate will have tons of event matches with the Spirit (which will act as the new trophies) and World of Light, a new campagin.

Pretty sure Smash Ultimate is missing 5 modes not including Smash Run or Subspace (not that those should be included, that'd be ridiculous) , and honestly some of those meant something to me (Stage Builder especially). That being said, considering critics are people who can either be very lenient or very anal about their games, there will probably be a few reviews that mention it. So it doesn't really matter if you or I, or even 99% of the Smash community cares.

It's a fighting game so I doubt it highly.

Do you know how many sites still believe this is a port of Smash 4? I can think of least 3 sites in Spain alone with voice in Metacritic that think that way.

There's no way this game is getting any higher than low 90s.

on Metacritic, Smash 4 and Brawl both scored over a 90, so dont just assume that because its a party/fighting game it doesnt have a chance. it will definitely come close

If the world was right it would be. However it probably won't

I uh...don't think so. I think it'll get a 94.

Hell no.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
