Isn´t like that in every election? The president´s party losing votes on the house ? I think that will be no big change.

Pretty much. It's business as usual. Not much will change overall.

The outcome may be business as usual, but this isn't exactly a "usual" president either, don't forget that.  This is going to be interesting.

Not much will happen. They'll just repeal whatever Trump does which won't benefit them and will try to rebuild Obamacare with the Senate obstructing them. An indictment will be possible, with the Senate, again, obstructing them even with mountains of credible evidence on their faces. Maybe some bipartisan deals here and there, but that's just about it.

At the very least the "entitlements" are not going to be massively cut to offset the loss in tax revenue, so I'd count that as a win. Dems having all the House committees is a good overall change as well. This result is the typical 'lame duck' presidency where the electorate went against the President to put a halt to their agenda. What the Republican Party can do now without the House will be interesting to see. Also gaining a handful of governor seats and state legislatures will be important for the Democrats with the upcoming census/redistricting.

well, in the past 2 years the Republicans havent made much progress outside of their own personal benefit, so maybe now we can see some actual change

From Bush to Obama to Trump the cycle I have seen is that the Democrats increase taxes to offset entitlements, then the Republicans lower taxes but do nothing to entitlements exacerbating debt, then Democrats come in to undo it. Rinse wash repeat. Since Republicans wont touch entitlements, they need Democrats to try to balance it by increasing revenue. In all honesty, the problem with Republican strategy is that they can never balance the budget because they are anti tax. And they will never have the support to end entitlements. That how revolutions are created. There would have to be universal suffering. Not rich takes all and everyone suffers.

It makes me very worried that after everything the left has done over the last 2 years, from trying to intimidate people through harassment and violence, to filling the airwaves with non-stop propaganda, and ESPECIALLY with how far left their candidates are moving, that there are still enough people in this country willing to vote for them to even be COMPETITIVE.

It really makes it feel like half of the country will vote for them no matter WHAT they do. And, especially with extremists like Ocasio-Cortez (moronic extremists, at that) winning in a LANDSLIDE, it just reinforces my fears that the next time the left REALLY gains power, Civil War is a question of "when", not "if".

Currently Replaying: Baten Kaitos

People just overestimated and overhyped the whole blue wave.

lol, gotta love the damage controllers. This is a decent blow to Trump and his agenda. Just because it's usually standard protocol doesn't mean it's harmless, this makes things much harder for Trump and the republican party to get anything done, the same way they did to Obama after his first 2 years.

Democrats have taken control of half of the government, this is nothing to down play about. They haven't had the house in 8 years, if Republicans are not worried now, they will be later.

Half of one third of the government.  The executive and the judicial branch are part of the government.

Bring it on, I've got my guns and ammo.  Gotta love that Second Amendment!
