I'm offended by how easily people fall for fake outrage manufactured by sites/youtube channels to gain clicks

Exactly this.

Outrage culture makes irrelevant things into big issues. It doesn't even matter if the original post is genuine (or even obviously not genuine).

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I think Warner Bros. provided a good disclaimer for their older cartoons that fits with this topic.

”The cartoons you are about to see are products of their times...While the following does not represent the Warner Bros. view of today’s society, these cartoons are being presented as they were originally created, because to do otherwise would be the same as claiming these prejudices never existed.”

If people are offended, then I cannot do much for them. It’s annoying but I’m not gonna ignore it. However, changing it now would only make me and others more ignorant of what happened back then. I’m sure Nintendo had no idea that the particular character from that Game & Watch would be portrayed in that fashion to some back in the day, but it happened and, thus far, they appeared to not have other issues besides the audio controversy in Ocarina of Time (I may have forgotten another example). This is all based on a game back in the 1980s.

In the end, there are some people who are too eager to pull the racism/sexism card. It’s the unfortunate part that society is dealing with today. I’m not saying that there is no racism or sexism in the world, because it’s ignorant to say that, but I would appreciate context before judging.

I could understand it with this one, as it looks more like a caricature. But the GameNWatch one does look more like some people became offended for the sake of being offended.

Well that's the point I was making.

But still Cleveland Indians have a lot of history as a baseball club. I never once found it was done offensively, or a racist thought ever crossed my mind about indians.

aaaand the idiots won. Nintendo is going to remove the feather from the sprite...

People today are incredibly sensitive to everything. They moan not because its actually racist, but they want some god damn pity award. Self pity is one of the most negative traits you can have.

So are actual native-Americans offended by this or is it white people offended on behalf of Native-Americans again?

When did this happen?

they just said today that in the first update for the game the sprite will be fixed to remove the feather

As you said yourself, captain. Never underestimate human stupidity. Now we can only shake our heads and ask ourselves why social media has gone so far to let every dumbass speak as loud or even louder as the people who really know what they're talking about.

There is a famous quote by Umberto Eco about social media:

“Social media gives legions of idiots the right to speak when they once only spoke at a bar after a glass of wine, without harming the community. Then they were quickly silenced, but now they have the same right to speak as a Nobel Prize winner. It’s the invasion of the idiots.”

I mean, Cleveland already dropped that logo and there are a lot of people actively campaigning to rename the Redskins.

When did they? The last time I watched an indians game, the chief was there on their hats.

God bless You.
