Forums - Politics Discussion - US Midterm Elections 2018- Dems take the House, GOP Keeps the Senate.

Who did you vote for?

GOP Rep and GOP Senator 20 30.77%

Democrat Rep and Democrat Senator 38 58.46%

GOP Rep and Democrat Senator 0 0%

Democrat Rep and GOP Senator 4 6.15%

Third Party/Other 3 4.62%

Total:65

I'm staying out of this one. For one, my knowledge of local politicians pales in comparison to on a national level and I don't just want to resort to "team red!" or "team blue!" simply because the politicians happen to wear red ties or blue ties without knowing anything about their policies. Also, while the Democrats are at an all time low for me right now, I don't think I can bring myself to vote for a bunch of republicans either. So I guess I'm voting.. by not voting :P

Voting done.

Anyone who doesn't vote better not be bitching about any results.

Voted straight R up and down the ticket. Results are going to be extremely close nation wide I think. Can't see either side having a landslide.

Personal Predictions:
Republicans hold the Senate pretty easily.
House is a toss up. Democrats should have pretty significant gains, but there's a lot toss up races.
Some fun governors races too. I think that Democrats will pick up 3-4 governorships at least. Florida governor going to Gillum (D) is my pick.

As far as my personal voting, nothing really exciting living where I live. Will likely vote R on governor, D on house rep, and R on state senate/house rep.

GOP winning Kentucky and Indiana districts by around 10% so far.

Here's a place that's covering all the results that I'll be watching tonight: https://truepundit.com/2018-election-day-live-coverage-and-results/

seems that they're tracking all the major ones and listing what time the voting starts coming in too, makes it easier to follow

First time voting in a mid term election, same with my wife. We voted full democrats.

Exact same for my wife and I too.

I did vote in 2016 which was my first time voting in US but my wife has never voted before and she is 38 year old.  Ever since a certain orange candidate got in office, she got motivated to register and vote.

I suggest the NYT.

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2018/11/06/us/elections/results-senate-elections.html this for senate and reps

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/05/upshot/needle-election-night-2018-midterms.html this to track what percent of who can win.

Anyway the GOP just won their first seat in the house.
