I teach high schoolers. How long will these students be out if they are caught? I'm assuming they and their parents want me to drop everything I'm doing and get them the work that they are going to miss as if it is my fault?
Good try. Those kids are slippery though. Also: Home Depot? Kmart? Sears? Pfffft. You can't fool me.

Don't risk you life over something so trivial like petty theft to save a few bucks for a corporation that most likely got insurance for that, its not worth it.
But i can understand you can get caught up in the moment on things like this and just chase without thinking.

I wouldn't have given chase... There is a dozen things that could have gone wrong that may have resulted in your harm... Or theirs. - And you being in trouble.
