Forums - Gaming Discussion - What Were Your Peak Gaming Years?

I've always been an active gamer pretty much since I first started playing video games around 91-92, but there was a period of time around 2011-2013 when I didn't play quite as many games, mostly because I started university in 2011 and had to take time to adjust to a lot of new things. I keep a list of games I finish each year, and the number of games dropped by almost half during those years and didn't really start to pick back up until 2014.

There was a time when I played browsergames 18h a day but I wouldn't really consider it gaming. I'm only playing games when new big ones are coming out so I never really had extended periods of steadily playing games. That is until Rocket League came around. I have ramped up my game recently and I'm playing about 25h a week of RL alone. It was a pretty good year for me.

About 2005 - 2012 I think.

1987 till present. I never stopped, probably never will. For time spend, perhaps 1999 to 2007 as that's when Everquest and afterwards WoW were 2 huge time sinks next to still trying to play PC games and all 3 consoles . Currently I'm pretty much only playing on ps4 (and psvr) yet it's filling up all my spare time regardless.

I'm still convinced that 2017 is the single greatest year for gaming ever

A long time ago... :(

My prime gaming years were the 90s. I played a lot of games on DOS. With the transition of gaming to Windows (and that happened late) I kinda got less involved. Yes, I played Starcraft and some other stuff, but definitely less than with DOS. Also I had seen MUDs (text-based multiplayer online games) and lost myself for a time in that. I was only a superficial gamer, until the Wii pulled me back in.

1994-2013.

Don't get married and have kids if you want to enjoy your hobbies.

I struggle to get in 5 hours a week of gaming.
