Red dead impressive, not crazily like black ops or spider man, but still impressive. Hardware down another week, one or two more meh weeks before the big swing upwards I imagine.

Red Dead Redemption 2 number one, yeah!

Strong Call of Duty Sales. And Spiderman has sold nearly 300,000 units on disc in Japan :) Impressive.

Here is the week 43 update in terms of the two big consoles in Japan's path to be able to reach the commonly stated (in these sales threads) estimates for 2018 sales (2 mil for PS4, 4 mil for Switch) .

TWS GD YTD % Goal AWN (Change)
PS4 20,639 -48,871 1,325,534 66.3% (+1.1) 74,940 (+5430)
Switch 37,855 -166,879 1,990,506 49.8% (+0.9) 223,277 (+18,543)

TWS - This week's sales
GD - Goal differential, the difference between the average week needed from last week compared to this week's sales
YTD - Units sold in 2018 so far including this week's sales
AWN - Average weekly sales needed to reach the estimate for the console.

As we get closer and closer to the end of the year the Math gets more punishing for not making the AWN. Both consoles are down from last week. 2 more weeks until the Pokemon/Smash bundle to see just how much the Switch can make up in that big week.

Looks like RDR2 will easily pass RDR lifetime really fast. I did not expect that RDR2 would do that well in Japan

PS4 digital has been exceptionally high this year in Japan, Spider Man did 90+k for September, I can see COD and Red Dead having similar (or greater) numbers. Japan seems to embracing western titles en mass this year.

Decent start for RDR2, and COD has a decent 3rd week.

I also didn't realize that SF was getting ported around again. Is that the Switch version ported to PS4?

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Check out MyAnimeList and my Game Collection. Owner of the 5 millionth post.

So the Switch is below the baseline, but this is expected to be honest. Not really anything new. But it will ramp up as we go on. Ps4 hardware is also not very impressive.

Red dead did well enough but I am interesting in seeing how it does next week. Speaking of that, pretty surprising for CoD to not drop off lower. Pretty good. As for Mario party, same thing. I thought it would have dropped off out of top 5 but it persists. Well done, physical will pass Spiderman too next week I think.

The meh-est week.

RDR2 responding well to the marketing push.
