Eh, I usually prefer third person but I can't agree with you there. Mainly because of how terrible the character animations are.

OT: I'd definitely play RDR in third person, the only game where I choose first person over third person is shooters such as Star Wars Battlefront (2015), or as mentioned above Bethesda Games.... oh and Minecraft, but no one plays that third person.

Pretty much this for now. When I, eventually, pick up this game, I will surely play in third person. Don't like first person view in video games and cant' explain why.  Maybe if I tried VR my opinion would change.

Just did 2 hours with the game. I'll be playing in 1st person. Either way the lack of VR really limits this game. Playing it is making me want to go back to Skyrim. I am going to be so happy the day all games support VR and Advanced Controlllers.

So far the game is feeling really good. Easily Rockstars most polished experience to date. Now if only I didn't have to work the next 8 days.

Third. Just like the first. Though.... I'm thinking about holding out now until the goty version releases or undead nightmare equivalent.

Probably 3rd person but 1st person when there are gun fighting.

Just imagine how the inclusion of VR would have limited the game in other ways

I despise playing in first person and always play in third person when it is an option. VR is one thing, when the actual arms on screen look to your eyes like extensions of your own. But, sitting away from the TV doesn't have that same feel. In fact its jarring to me, and I don't enjoy it or feel immersed by it at all.
