Screen looks mile better than the Switch.

So they aren't entirely wrong.

That's true. Doesn't the base model Vita still have a better screen then Switch display-wise? That's one of the improvements I want from it for sure (although honestly, I still think it looks pretty good in handheld)

Vita's screen is very nice at doing pure black at the native resolution of 544p but the thing is, a ton of Vita games are sub native res and in those cases you get a crazy bleed effect from some areas, Killzone is fairly nasty looking at times when it comes to dark area's  same is true of a games on the Vita being upscaled from things like the PSone, non native just doesn't work great with that screen, unless you mean the LCD version in the Vita slim edition, that's better in general than the originals but loses out on the very nice pure blacks which the OLED screen offers.

Fancy hearing me on an amateur podcast with friends gushing over one of my favourite games? https://youtu.be/1I7JfMMxhf8

Yeah I was really only talking about the advantage of OLED, my bad.

Who is this marketing aimed at??
As far as I can tell the only major country that would buy gaming phones is China, a market where they already have Nintendo beat.
I cant see this working in the US or EU really, the interest in such a product in those regions is pretty low. Too much of a niche product to have a big impact.
And then theres Japan, who sure love them some mobile gaming but the games that dominate are games specifically made for mobile and usually one hand use too. Not to mention Japan is iPhone country.

Except... Huawei isn't claiming that their device is:
* More affordable.
* Better games library.
* Cheaper.

They are basically saying that their phone has the technical advantage, which it does, on almost every front.
Their claim that it is the best portable gamins machine is a bit of a stretch considering personal taste/advertising angle they are taking anyway.

So? Nobody cares about better specs unless they can back it up with a competitive price and compelling library. Hardware makers still continuously fail to realize that specs are not what sell consoles, games and attractive hardware at a good price do. That's why the PS4 base still regularly outsells the Pro, and why the Switch is still selling on par with, at times outselling the PS4. Huawei can say their phone has all these technical advantages all they want. But's it's still a $900 Android device with half of a controller, and all the limitations and jank that Android comes with. Switch may be technologically inferior, but's it's a better designed device in just about every way from controls, to optimization, and efficiency.

Sure technically it has far superior Specs, but without a proper controller this doesnt mean much

Did you even bother look it up?

PUBG, Fortnite and Minecraft aren't exactly "nothing" though.

The thing that interests me is how they account for heat,does that limit it to a case of a more powerful chipset that will never have games that push that particular hardware past the level of the switch, so it just gets used to run phone features more efficiently and becomes just another bullet point.

The device uses Vapor Chamber cooling, similar to what is found in high-end PC video cards and the Xbox One X.
- Granted it is unlikely to feature a fan to assist, it's still impressive.

With that in mind... A throttled Kirin 980 SoC will still beat the permanently-throttled old 2015~ era Tegra X1 chip anyway. So meh.

lol I wish I had that much self-esteem

Does it have achievements? If so then yeah, it's definitely better!

The receipt when you buy it counts as an achievement, right?
