And even my Laptop, which I bought last year and isn't even high-end, has 32 GB RAM + 8 GB VRAM. So anything below 32 GB isn't enough to be declared Next-Gen in my book.

What model is your laptop? Would love to see how much over $500 its MSRP is.

Asus GL702VS. Got it for 1.175 € on sale. Granted, that's way more than you pay for a console. But we're talking about 2020 and a machine that is supposed to last until 2025 at the very least.

Probably 16GB, it has to fit in a €400 plastic box, the Xone released last year for €500 with 12GB of RAM.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

8 gb of ram runs perfect for almost anyway, even gaming. There is absolutely no need for 128 gb of ram. My desktop has 24-32 gb (I can't remember) and is amazing with the dozens of browsers and programs I have opened at the same time.

20 GB total.

12 GB gddr5 exclusive games.

4 GB gddr5 shared OS/Games.

4 GB ddr4 for OS.

16GB seems about right

I want that 32.

Probably between 16-24 GB of ram, right now I'm guessing 16 GB of Gddr6 ram would cost Sony 120$. And doing a build for ps5 we can get a good idea.

100$ for Ram
100$ for APU (Cpu+Gpu)
50$ for hard drive
150$ rest

So you can see 16 GB of ram is already over budget but prices are expected to drop somewhat next year.

6x master league achiever in starcraft2

Beaten Sigrun on God of war mode

Beaten DOOM ultra-nightmare with NO endless ammo-rune, 2x super shotgun and no decoys on ps4 pro.

1-0 against Grubby in Wc3 frozen throne ladder!!

Probably 32GB shared memory, I can't really see why any game or gaming system in the next 8 years would need 128gb of memory. The OS will still need about 3/4GB, and lets say 8GB for background tasks, 24GB for games is way more than enough.

GPU/CPU is probably more interesting, I think it'll be about 1080 equivalent for a 2020 release, with about a Ryzen 7 2700 equivalent cpu.

16GB. Technically, you only need 8GB of RAM (+4GB VRAM) to play any modern game on a PC, and that's with the resource heavy OS. 4k res (+ some AA) would require a bit more than 4GB of VRAM, therefore they're most likely throw another 4 gigs on the top of it.

16 is more than enough.
