Um..what is that supposed to mean?

Hip-hop and rap is music that isn't known for intellectual lyrics or even human decency. If that is used as the basis for your expectations, then being mere average as far as coherence goes can already be considered amazing. If your expectations are based on a normal level though, then "amazing" turns into "average at best".

I hope that explanation helped.

To people who don't know anything about hip hop except trap and gangsta rap, this is probably true. The culture extends far beyond that narrow-minded view however.

There are many big lyrical rappers like Kendrick Laman,  Logic, J Cole.

in that case, good thing it was stopped. Maybe the enacted an alternative, like they could go and get the correct ID for free, but if they didn't implement enough time to do so, it should not have to take into effect till next election. But, I still agree voter ID laws should remain or be enacted.

Every state should supply a free photo ID to anyone that wants one. That ID can be used for anything beyond this big things, like driving and flying.

But people need an ID for alcohol, cigarettes, welfare, food stamps, getting a job, ect. If there are multiple different types out there, then consolidate it into just one type. Make that free to acquire.

I would be fine with a voter ID law if the state sent you the ID for free. I got a social security card for my newborn (at the time) son in the mail so I think a voter ID card should be easy enough. I will specify, however, that I do not think that the republicans have met the burden of proof to implicate that voter fraud is enough of an issue to warrant imposing restrictions on one of our most important rights. I would only be in favor of such laws if they imposed basically no barrier to those that should be voting.

Little hard to send it in the mail, considering it needs to have a photo. I guess for passport, I went to costco/sams club or something and got my photo taken there cause they do that and then sent it in.

But what restrictions would there be to getting an ID? Just prove you're a citizen.

Like I said, they need to get an ID for lots of things like alcohol, cigs, welfare, job, ect. Getting an ID is not rocket science, hard or expensive. Most people too bothered to get an ID would be too bothered to vote.

Not only did that explanation did not help it really only explained your viewpoint of hip hop music.  Just because you are ignorant of the music doesn't mean your viewpoint is widely shared.

I have to say there are a bunch of songs I like from Kanye and I believe he is a pretty solid music artist. Does that mean we needed to see this photo shoot between him and the President, NO. Who will be the next black man to get a photo shoot with Trump just because they happen to like him. Will they be the next poster boy showing that yes, there are black people that support Trump. This was beyond cringe worthy and Trump got schooled on how to be an attention whore by one of the best. Oh well, as Kanye feels a personal bond between himself and Trump which I can definitely agree, they should hang out more.

Kayne West is wack and so is his music. Yeezus is easily the most overrated album so far this century. Makes sense he relates to Trump they both are narcissistic and have mental issues. Also let's not even talk about his Adidas clothing line since its overrated and overpriced hot garbage.

This post seems more focused on attacking Kanye and Trump personally than actually addressing the things they have to say.

Meanwhile, Kanye was trying to talk about gun violence, father figures, and jobs.

Well he didn't say much of substance the whole thing was one of the most cringe worthy things I have ever seen in my entire life.

Most celebrities, like most regular people, just fall in line. They believe what the TV or the masses on FB tells them to believe. They have few original thoughts. Kanye doesn't seem to be one of those people. And, for that, he gets my respect.

Beyond that.... well, I disagree with him quite a bit, especially with regard to his support for Trump. At least he has some original thoughts for me to disagree with though.

I am very conflicted on this whole Kanye thing. There is definitely an argument to be made for the fact that he is being tolerant towards intolerance. And it also would take a shit ton of time to fact check a lot of the statements he's made and stances he's taken.

On the other hand ... damn ... this is the kind of stuff we need more. Positive efforts for improvement. I think a big problem with how our country is run now is that socially Democrats focus a lot on how bad this country is. They don't echo positivity, hell, a lot of them wanted to move to Canada just to exaggerate their hate for Trump. Wallowing in negativity is not a good way to improve the country.

The best way to summarize it is that Kanye may be right to an extent ... but it's hard to know where the extent of his statements stops or begins. He is just so over the top whenever he explains a concept that I think it rubs people the wrong way. An example would be when he says that liberals use the concept of racism to try and steer black  voters away from the republican party. While that is true, how much of that is legitimate and how much of that is a farce by the liberals? Oh ... he didn't say, all he basically said was that racism is not something to be believed in as an issue.

Lot of great things said, lot of things that go maybe a little too far.

Also "I don't answer questions in soundbites" gotta admit ... that's a fucking brilliant statement.

So? Why do we need to force people to be intolerant towards intolerance?

Where did I say that? We don't need to.
