Forums - Politics Discussion - Kanye West Gives and Amazing Speech at the White House.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdC1jFr51GA&t=748s

He made some really good points. He has went to adidas and made them to start making his shoe bran yeezy in the US instead of in China. He is bringing these Jobs to Chicago to build up middle America and to help the unemployed black people. He also mentioned how the 13th amendment was fucked up because it was illegal for black people to read so if they learned how to read the 13th they would get locked up and become slaves again. For police brutality he mentioned that it is important for African Americans to work as a community with cops and for them to stop killing each other. When it comes to gun violence he talked about how the problem is illegal guns. Also he is running for President in 2024.

This speech was amazing and Kanye said lots of facts. If he runs for president he has my votes cause he has lots of good plans for America.

Yeah Kanye has been really great, I don't agree to the extent where I'd vote for him as president like the OP, but hes being himself and being true to himself. Kudos to him for being brave and standing his ground against all the constant slander he gets.

I've heard a snippet of the speech and I have to say... I agree. He did make a well thought out and constructive speech.

Having said that, no more famous presidents America. Are you fucking stupid? Their used to saying whatever in front of cameras to get you to see their movie, buy their album or sell their endorsed products. They lie just as much as politicians and are trained to lie a lot of the time. Jesus.

I must say i always thought he was kinda a douche but the last few months i have really started to change my opinion on him. Really respect that he has the balls to stand in opposition to his fellow Hollywood drones

Kanye has a track record of sticking to his word. A few weeks a go he said he would make yeezys in America and its already been put into action. He wants to change the criminal justice system he said last week and he is already meeting with the US President.

Kayne West is wack and so is his music. Yeezus is easily the most overrated album so far this century. Makes sense he relates to Trump they both are narcissistic and have mental issues. Also let's not even talk about his Adidas clothing line since its overrated and overpriced hot garbage.

You have made it obvious that your taste in music and clothing sucks. All of Kanye's albums are fire and Adidas are not even expensive and the clothing is pretty good for how cheap they are.

I am very conflicted on this whole Kanye thing. There is definitely an argument to be made for the fact that he is being tolerant towards intolerance. And it also would take a shit ton of time to fact check a lot of the statements he's made and stances he's taken.

On the other hand ... damn ... this is the kind of stuff we need more. Positive efforts for improvement. I think a big problem with how our country is run now is that socially Democrats focus a lot on how bad this country is. They don't echo positivity, hell, a lot of them wanted to move to Canada just to exaggerate their hate for Trump. Wallowing in negativity is not a good way to improve the country.

The best way to summarize it is that Kanye may be right to an extent ... but it's hard to know where the extent of his statements stops or begins. He is just so over the top whenever he explains a concept that I think it rubs people the wrong way. An example would be when he says that liberals use the concept of racism to try and steer black  voters away from the republican party. While that is true, how much of that is legitimate and how much of that is a farce by the liberals? Oh ... he didn't say, all he basically said was that racism is not something to be believed in as an issue.

Lot of great things said, lot of things that go maybe a little too far.

Also "I don't answer questions in soundbites" gotta admit ... that's a fucking brilliant statement.
