I don't like GTA games, should I buy Red Dead Redemption 2?

Yes, I'm that guy who doesn't like GTA. Have your laugh and get over it.

Anyway, I was wondering if RDR2 isn't just some 'GTA with cowboys' because it looks fairly interesting (which I also thought of GTA). The game looks good but seems to share some gameplay mechanics from previous Rockstar games. I don't want it to be another Do-whatever-you-want simulator because I prefer an interesting story too.

the two are very different experiences. the world of RDR2 is meant to feel very alive, so you cant get away with just murdering half the population and then pretending it didnt happen. the story is also a bit more streamlined than that of GTA. while the GTA games tend to exaggerate underground crime (for example, being able to just pull a rocket launcher out of your pants at any given moment) RDR is strictly limited to its wild west setting. its basically a story-driven RPG game set in the wild west with a heavy reliance on gun-play. thats really the best way i can put it

Red Dead Redemption 2 is an Open World-game, but you can only play the main missions - if you want ;) The game is very detailed. It's definitely one of the best games of the year (my prediction), maybe even the best with Spiderman and God of War.

If you like a big living world with great story, fantastic details, lots of animals, possibilities or cowboys  = then yes, enjoy it :) Personally, I'm not a fan of cowboys - but I want to play the game. "Rockstar Games" is known for strong quality :) ps. And it also has an online mode.

Death Stranding, PS4-Release: November 8! The Last of Us2 + FF7Remake = First 2020 Quarter

Well I didn't like GTA 4 or 5 but I remember really enjoying RDR1.

this post describes me :p
GTA used to be fun when I was a teenager but now just feels cheesy to me. RDR was awesome but I hated the graphics on PS3 so hopefully rockstar doesnt do the ps4 dirty with a really underdeveloped version compared to the xbox one x. I recommend you buy it since it has what seems like a more mature and engaging story than GTA V.

There's a dick joke in there somewhere

Bet Shiken that COD would outsell Battlefield in 2018. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8749702

I'm on the same boat. GTA is a"jack of all traits, master of none" kind of game as far as I'm concerned. I've heard the story for the first RDR is pretty excellent, but I wonder if the gameplay is a bit more focused than the GTA series

GTA:SA was the last one I really liked. I couldn't even finish GTA IV, and V was somewhat fun for me, mainly due to Trevor. RDR1 was okayish, nothing to right home about.
Honestly, for last 10 or so years, when it comes to GTA-esque games, I enjoyed non-Rockstar games (like Sleeping Dogs, The Saboteur and Red Faction: Guerilla) more than anything they've created.

You may like it. I love GTA, but only like RDR games.

Yes. Get it, Red Dead Redemption was amazing. It shared similaritied with GTA. But it's also different and its own game. I prefer it over GTA
