Forums - Sales Discussion - Fifa Sales from Spain: 90% sold on PS4!

PS4 continues to be the Fifa beast. Really impressive.
Combination of marketshare and the fact that UEFA commercial is all about Playstation and has been for years, best deal Sony ever did in terms of gaming.

I've got a few friends who has a PS4 only to play Fifa.. not sure why, but it's kind of hilarious watching their gaming shelf.

Fifa 14,15,16,17,18,19 and if they have kids.... a Lego game or two ;P

Still I've gotta feel that there should be untapped potential for Fifa on the Switch.. it's the only handheld experience, it should get some attention.. but I guess not much.

I would have thought that a portable FIFA title would have done really well in Europe. Maybe since FIFA 18 for Switch had huge price cuts not long after release the people are waiting for that to pick up FIFA 19?

Switch didnt get a price cut until all other versions did. However in some countries it was priced cheaper than the PS4/Xbox versions from the start (priced like the legacy versions)

It did sell very very well once it had a price cut though.. I could imagine owners of other versions double dipped once it dropped in price.

Not a surprise. Here's another piece of information: "A large percentage of PS4 owners buy the console to play FIFA and not their exclusive ones". Nobody buys an Xbox One or a Switch to play FIFA.

That's why PS4 big exclusives like Uncharted, Horizon, God of War and Spider Man are all breaking records and selling around 10M each, right? lol

OT: We don't talk about Wright's land here.

If you read well, I'm not saying that the PS4 exclusives do not sell well, I'm just saying that there are people who buy FIFA and are not interested in more games. And if someone wants to play FIFA, buy the PS4, not Xbox One or Switch. And not because PS4 is the best place to play as some say, but because it is something traditional since the time of PS1 or PS2.

Wow, that's huge. Though, personally, I'm surprised to see that they are still releasing these on last gen HW.

So true ^^ These were my thoughts too.

If I recall it right FIFA was supported up until FIFA 12 on PS2... and we had the PS4 launch in 2013.

It's nothing new, lol.

until Fifa 14, that was also still on PS2, so it was on 3 PS Consoles :D

Perhaps you would like to compare sales for exclusives on Xbox and PS4.... anything noteworthy to add on that?

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

With 90% share what exactly is the point of shareplay?

I remember some guys here posting that FIFA playerbase would migrate from ps4 now having a portable option
