Forums - Gaming Discussion - how big is your excitement for FFVII Remake after 3 years of announcement?

My hype died when I saw the gameplay. It's just not what I wanted from an FF7 remake. I wanted it to be basically the same game but with a few modern tweaks. I wanted it to have the same cartoony anime art style the original had instead of the realistic character models they're going with.

In other words, I wanted them to create the game we remember it being, not the game that it actually was.  But it looks like they're completely changing everything, and I'm sure it'll be a good game, but it won't be the FF7 I remember.

And why only original releases? That's irrelevant nowadays,  they can now be played on the ps4.

Do you want to have a conversation about this or not?  We are talking about all of the time that passed between Kingdom Hearts 2 and 3.  We aren't talking nowadays.  We are talking about what happened during those 13 years between 2006 and and 2019.

Well, if you really wanted to play another home console-quality KH game after KH2 released, you could have at least tried out Birth by Sleep, which came out in 2010. Yes, you had to get a PSP (but even if KH3 had released during the 7th gen, you still would've had to get a PS3 to play it, so it's basically the same situation), but you could have got an experience practically in the same level as KH1 and KH2 without having to wait 13 years. Also, in 2008 (only 2 years after KH2), we got Chain of Memories on PS2, so you didn't have to get another console.

Bigger than ever! Also smaller than ever. It has never really changed since the announcement. Still is a big fat meh for me and I fully expect the game to be exactly as meh as I expect it to be.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

it has another 10 years, and it will be next, next generation of consoles. until its out i have 0 interest, no faith in square devs.

This thread made me want to do a new play through of FF7 lol.....

Bigger than yours!

Hunting Season is done...

They should have waited until the game was closer to completion before announcing it, in my opinion. I've lost faith in Square's ability to follow through with commitments. By the time their games do release, they are well-polished, etcetera, but I can't get hyped for something that may not see the light of day (at least not from Square).

I agree with the general consensus, they announced it way too early. It probably won't even release on PS4.

With that said, the original lost a lot of its charm with me because I played it in 2015. I can wait a little longer.
