Forums - Sports Discussion - So, Cristiano Ronaldo is an alleged Rapist.

I wa talking to a friend about Soccer and he told me that Ronaldo is a rapist. I never heard of this so I looked into it and he raped a women back in 2009. She accused him last year but the Las Vegas police recently re opened the case. Ronalda even admitteed that he raped her. This news basickly killed my day because Ronaldo is my favorite soccer player and it's terrible that he raped somebody. I hope he gets dropped from Juventus so he learns his lesson. What are your thoughts on this?

I got most of this info rom WJ. https://www.wsj.com/articles/pressure-ramps-up-on-ronaldo-amid-rape-investigation-1538683415

The woman is claiming he rapped her in 2009, nothing was proven so far. This is not how the world works, you're not a criminal the moment someone acuses you, and lets be honest, this dude is a billionaire, super famou with everything to loose, he is the ideal target if you want to make up an acusation and gain some money. Lets wait till fact come out before jumping to conclusions.

I put this in the OP.

He admitted to raping her.

From what I just read, she said yes, which is consent. Not rape.

" but she made herself available.", even though she didn't want to, she MADE herself available by saying yes. They won't say she said yes, bu she did say yes. Regret the next day is not rape, she could of opted out halfway through, but she didn't. Not rape.

This #MeToo movement is the most toxic thing to happen in society in forever.

There's no definitive proof. He shouldn't be droped from Juventus either way, Juventus and FIFA arent law enforcement. If he's guilty and it can be proved 100% in court of law then they can deal with it. If it is not, then he should have the right to play soccer.

In the document Ronaldo himself said that she said no and stop several times.

He said that he did it. IIMO I dont feel confortable supporting a team where one of the players is a rpist thats why I hope they drop him.

The questionaire is not confirmed to be true, I'd be amazed if it is since he suposedly answered in English, and if anyone were to question you about something as delicate as this you'd want to answer in your mother tongue with an official translator nearby just to be 200% sure you didn't make any mistakes. As I said you're jumping to conclusions here, wait till things are properly investigated before declaring the guy guilty.

You dont need to support them. But others may want to. And we shouldnt ruin the life of Ronaldo nor the other fans that want to support Juventus because some fans dont. Those fans can go support another team. If he is proven guilty the law can take care of it.

Update your title to "in my opinion: "

First, you got the name wrong. Second, I know I am biased, but this case reeks of opportunism. Third, he did not admit any raping, you should do a better research.
