Its not a genre I enjoy.... I suspose there must be others out there like me.
Im surprised its gotten so many 9 & 8's out of 10s by reviewers.

Looks good, not many boards but I can live with that. The boards are also quite small but the dice being 1-6 instead of 1-10 makes that less of a problem. Now I just need to start a Kickstarter for a second set of joycons and I'll get it.

i was expecting 75. Just seems to have so much against it. No pro controller support. 4 boards. Semi online. No handheld support on a console thats a handheld. 78 seems too high for me.

WHAT?! All I do is play with the Pro controller. Well that sucks!

Most of the mini-games are built around the joy cons. The Pro controller would be awful for a game like this.

This is a great score for a party game.

I understand why the decision was made, however I'm sure that a good chunk of those 80 or so minigames would be viable with a pro controller. It should be an option to limit to only minigames that would work, other Mario party games had minigame options like this, "no mic games", "skill games", and other categories.

It would have been nice to support people who have pro controllers and only one set of joycons, even if it meant they had a slightly more limited experience.

It's one of the reasons I won't be getting this game for a while.

6; }

The score doesn't make sense compared to the rest of the series, I mean it only has 4 small boards. Guess expectations were uber low, understandable considering the state of the series.

Seems like a solid entry. Good stuff. 4 boards makes me think they'll be going the DLC route. Hope it's not too exploitative if that's the case.

I think Nintendo will continue the same model they have for other recent games, by adding free content like in Splatoon 2, Arms, Kirby and Mario tennis

I don't think so. Each of those games had their content updates announced before launch, naturally as they gotta justify paying full price for an unfinished game.

I've played a board with the fiance, was good fun. Best Mario Party since 5. There's a really big list of minigames, all of which we enjoyed. Boards are a bit smaller, and aren't as memorable as those in the first 5 games, but there was something going on every turn and the varied dice blocks added a nice element of strategy. Solid 9/10 for me.
