Forums - Sales Discussion - Fifa 19 Uk sales platform split

Taken from the PAL charts ps4 version had the lions share with 64%, Xbox one 35% and switch only 1%. Last gen version sales were negligible. Imo EA should stop releasing it for the ps3 and 360. This is a great result for the ps4 in what is the xbox second strongest market by far after the US.

"FIFA 19 is already the biggest UK video game of 2018, but its opening week physical sales have fallen sharply. The game's week one sales are down 25% compared with FIFA 18's arrival one year ago. Of course, these GfK figures only factor in physical games sold and does not include downloads. The numbers suggest that this year's FIFA either had a comparatively disappointing first week, or there has been a sharp acceleration in the movement from physical to digital. Or, perhaps more likely, a combination of both. The PS4 version of FIFA 19 accounted for 64% of sales, with Xbox One accounting for 35% and the Switch version the remaining 1%. Sales of the games on legacy platforms (Xbox 360, PS3) were negligible"

the UK is probably the region where FIFA 19 does best on the Xbox..... considering how the USA doesnt really care about soccor.
For it to do only 35% of the PS4 sales there... jeez...

PS4 total sales for this title must dwarf the xbox one's by a factor of like 1 : 10 globally.

It did ~55% of the PS4 version.

Which is bad right? According to VGCharts the XB is at ~80% of the PS4 sales in terms of hardware in the UK.
(~4.3m XB1 vs ~5.4m PS4's in the UK)

Then consider all the rest of the world (where soccor is big (ei. not the usa)) and the sales of fifa must be heavily favored in the PS4's direction.

I'm not disagreeing with your conclusion, just pointing out your math was wrong.

Great to see the Playstation 4 version to be the best selling one! #BestPlaceToPlay

Wouldn't be surprised if this was the last Fifa game from EA for the Switch.

It may be cause of Forza Horizon 4 coming out in the same week. As of that week FH4 ultimate is already out, and it would be in the this chart, if they didn't chose to group it in with the standard launch.

The last entry sold exceptionally well in the UK, and this time the game is set in the UK, and marketing has been more aggressive in general.

To add to that, PS has the Fifa marketing marketing, as well.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

But doesn't forza generally have modest sales at launch but long legs thanks to bundles and various discounts?

In the UK, Horizon 3 sold very well at launch.
