Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Switch is becoming quite the machine for JRPGs and SRPGs.

When the Switch first launched, one of the burning questions I had about its future was whether or not it would inherit the 3DS' great JRPG and SRPG support. The answer is yes. The floodgates have opened. Here is what the Switch has for JRPGs and SRPGS either now, or in the future...

Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna
Valkyria Chronicles 4
Valkyria Chronicles Remastered
Octopath Traveler
Disgaea 5 Complete
Atelier Lydie & Suelle
Lost Sphere
Ys VIII
Labryinth of Refrain (I'm painfully on the fence about this one, but it exists. Beware the ultra-cringe NISA voice actors.)
Disgaea 1 Remastered
Pokemon Let's Go (Also on the fence about this one.)
Pokemon Gen 8
Tales of Vesperia Remastered
Fire Emblem Three Houses
DragonQuest XI S
Grandia Remastered
Shin Megami Tensei 5
Final Fantasy 7
Final Fantasy 9
Town (Gamefreak)
I Am Setsuna
TWEWY
Final Fantasy X HD Remaster
Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age
Inazuma XI
Yakoi Watch
Neptunia
World of Final Fantasy
SOA:FB
Shining Resonance Refrain
Romancing Saga
Little Dragon's Cafe
Langrisser Remakes
Golf Story
Crystal Chronicles R
DQ Builders
DQ Builders 2

I'm not sure if Persona 5 will get a Switch version, but Persona 3 and 4 both got portable versions. So there's a good chance of it coming to Switch. I think. Maybe. I'll stop port begging now.

The only question remaining is just how long Atlus will cling to the 3DS. I'm eagerly awaiting sales results for Valkyria Chronicles 4 on Switch. Because if it does amazingly well Sega may just force Atlus to pump out more games for Switch.

Dont forget about the Tales of game and grandia, but yes, things are going great for the switch in terms of RPGs

Yeah, adding them to the list. Grandia was a remake of Grandia 1 and 2 right?

Totally expected. Don't forget Gust who will put about a dozen of Atelier games on the system. We are only at four now, but those guys know no restraints.

Gimme three of those on a cart, and I'd buy it for sure.

Or the two games that came out in 2014 on PS3 on a single cart for Switch.

It will be the only console that will have a portability feature soon. It is only a matter of time Japanese devs to start porting everything on it + making new games on it.

Yeah, by the end of its life Cycle I think we're going to see the RPG library rivaling the SNES. If not better. Yokai Watch 4 is also coming to Japan this winter.

Pretty much what I've expected, it's RPG library will give the DS a run for its money at this rate.

Unfortunately, I've read on a Nintendo news site that the Arland trilogy on Switch will be digital-only in America and Europe. I don't take that as confirmation just yet, but it's not looking good.

By the way, I like how the original post doesn't mention Final Fantasy. You have good taste.

I learned the hard way years ago that the original Final Fantasy for the NES is terrible. :P

Edit: Wait, did you mean any and all Final Fantasies? FF6, 7, 8, and 9 are classics!

Best place for the JRPG GAMER. Also known as "Paradise."

But seriously I've been loving it, being able to play these games on the go is a much bigger plus than I would have expected at first. I recently went on vacation while playing Valkyria Chronicles I...and realized just how much I would have liked to take it with me. Getting IV on Switch wasn't even a question when it was confirmed.

Which gives it a strong reason to get over the XB1, as XB1 rarely gets those games.
