So basically MS version of PSX with a live show with new announcements and playtime for attendees throughout the event.

Yeah they used to do it. Its where they announced they bought Rare and where footage for the first Ass Creed was shown, I think thats where they first announced Halo 2 also but not 100% sure.

seen elsewhere rumours of MS buying Playful, possibly to do Banjo, and Obsidian. That would probably round out their first party nicely. They would have their three main studios on their usual franchises for fps, tps and sim racing, Playground on arcade racing and Fable, Obsidian on another RPG, their new studio doing new IP, Ninja Theory doing thirdperson action, State of Decay franchise with hopefully a bigger budget, Rare doing whatever they want. Won't see the results this gen but at least it's something to look forward to after the last few painful years.

Looks like a big announcement awaits us.

Is xbox particularly popular in Mexico? Surprised it's not being hosted in the states.

Xbox has always been popular in Mexico, No idea what volumes of hardware have been sold in the region but Xbox One has a higher marketshare than the PS4 does.

Is that to do with price? What other factors 

Finally new generation hardware can be teased.

Happy to hear this since i've been saying before that Microsoft should host their own event at some point in the year like Sony does with PSX and Nintendo does with their Directs. Saving all your announcements for just a few days during E3 is just too long of a wait now.
