I've been thinking about this all day...... I think this game will be the one that gets me to subscribe to Gamepass. I've been telling myself that I'll subscribe as soon as a AAA game that I want to play but haven't hits the service. I don't normally *buy* racing games. But, I do enjoy the FH games I've received via XBL, and this one sounds truly great. So, this just might be the one to get me to open my wallet....

New IP being Fable? Or is this something completely different? 

Forza Horizon is the saving grace of the racing genre, which on a whole has been a letdown this gen.

Burnout gone, Midnight Club gone, Driver gone, PGR gone, and countless more gone. Bizarre shut down, black rock shut down, black box shut down, evolution shut down, Sony liverpool shut down, criterion is as good as dead. Once revered series like Need for Speed and Gran Turismo are a shadow of their former selves.

You have a good racing game sometimes, like FAST RMX or Trackmania Turbo, but those are few and far between.

Apparently so! I don't remember hearing that they were working on fable. A few people here have said the same thing. I just remember that they are working on an open world game.

Seems like FH4 has settled on 92 meta with 57 reviews. I was expecting a troll review or 2 to drop it a point. I took a week off work to work through the backlog and clear some room. I can't wait!

Looks like I will only be off by one point I predicted that it would get a 93 metascore. I think if the map would have been a big bigger it probably could have scored a bit higher. Even though it probably not going to happen I would love if the two expansions attach directly to the main map. One could attach to the southern part of the map and the other one could attach towards the the north eastern part of the map via the three bridges that are visible on the map but can't be accessed.

Its a different view when it compares free to play games to AAA full priced games.

But Forza falls under both, since you can buy it else you can just use Xbox Game Pass to play. Fortnite's 80 million were monthly players though, while Horizon 3's 10 million are lifetime players.

Still more than GT Sport, which has 5 million players. There's no doubt Horizon games sell more than GT now, but GT is much bigger than Motorsport.

Forza Horizon 3 has never hit Gamespass or any actually has yet, FH4 on the 2nd October is the first Forza series game to enter Gamepass. That's what makes FH3 player count impressive when you factor in multi account consoles and used copies I think sales sitting around 7m is a fair estimate.

This is the one Franchise that still makes want to return to Xbox after skipping it this gen.

I thought for some reason he was speaking of horizon 4. The 7 million sales estimate seems fair for 3. I'd say 4 might sell more despite being on Game Pass, the hype for it is more palpable and people are more welcoming of Windows Store games on PC. Its also released with few competitors both Xbox exclusives and racing games. There is no Gears 4 it has to share attention with and The Crew 2 is already forgotten by gamers.

It should at least sell more on the PC since all the people that got a pre release copy of the game say that it pretty much runs without any issues and if there are some I'm sure they will get patched pretty quickly.  So its not going to be like the third game which took eight month to fix on the PC.  Too bad that the Crew 2 pretty much bombed that free DLC that was announced before the launch is probably going to end up being just a couple of items now.  I will still probably buy it once its around $30 dollars, even though the first game wasn't that good and somewhat of a grind fest.  I pretty much used the same car in the entire game since upgrading took forever and I didn't finish it all the way since didn't beat the final chapter.
