Too much money spent for licences, not enough for a new engine?

Seems that The Walking Dead season 4 is cancelled as well, only 2 out of 5 episodes will release. The skeleton crew that remains is working on the Minecraft Story Mode adaptation for Netflix.

I never played any of their games, since they never seemed to be worth my time and money, so I'm quite apathetic about it. It's weird to me though that people who haven't played any  Telltale games and have an emotional attachment to them are sad for the studio closing. I mean are you sad when a mediocre (to bad) TV show shuts down and the employees lose their job?

Never had any interest in their kind of games, but sucks that people lost their jobs.

People say it, but they don't mean it.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

I was looking forward to The wolf among us 2. Ah well. End of an era.

Its more about the people working there than anything else.I have played the first Walking Dead and though the game was good but thats about it.It just sucks when people lose their jobs, thats all.

That's so sad, I loved The Walking Dead and Tales from the Borderlands. I still have to play some of their games.

The Final Season had a great start. Was it cancelled too? Seriously, this is so hard to believe...

i’m really not surprised. they were trying to do way too much. you could tell that the quality of their titles wasn’t getting better either.

instead of trying to improve their storytelling and gameplay formula, they just spread the same old formula out across far too many games.

i feel bad for the employees, but for the gaming industry this is probably for the best. i hope another developer can fill the void in this story-focused genre but improve upon what’s already been done.
