Spider-Man PS4 sold 3.3 million units in three days, becomes fastest-selling PS4 exclusive

Great doing. But the "household" remark is kinda silly since it didn't outdone GoW by a big amount.

I'd say it will be around 5m after 2 weeks.

And Insomniac could easily remake ratchet 2. Wouldn't take many resources at all.

I mean, technically a week is seven days, it's done 3.3m in three days, so you could still be right :P

Not really, more like 13 days

A game doing 3.3M (plus Pro bundles) in 3 days wouldn't need 13 to do 4M. Even more when we look at Japan and UK drop being in the 40-50% range for second week.

"The 3.3 million figure does not factor in sales of Sony’s limited edition PlayStation 4 Pro bundle that includes an “Amazing Red” console and DualShock 4 controller in addition to a copy of the game for $399.99."

This part is wrong.

Gematsu misinterpreted something in the USA today article.

So the bundled copies ARE included in the 3.3 mill?

I wonder if it can sell 5 million in two weeks, three weeks at most.

Could be... 3.3M in 3 days, 40-50% drop on "second week" and not counting Pro. It may get quite close to 5M with 2 weeks (14 days).

Yes.

The USA article is poorly written.

Everyone assumed "that figure" was talking about the 3.3 million, but there are literally 3 sets of numbers between "that figure" and the "3.3 million".

Looks like I wasn't the only one excited about this game since it was announced. Hoping the fact in 3 days Spider-Man outsold the Ratchet and Clank remake has no effect on my favorite Lombax.

For everyone enjoying Spider-man yet for some reason hasn't played God of War yet, play that next! It's even better in every aspect except swinging through a city. Actually spider-man makes me want to go back to God of War after.

Believe it or not but as soon as I platined Spidey I started my NG+ on GoW... but even on the give me a challenge it is being to easy so far (just got to the first encounter with jormangud), myself armor 8 enemies level 6-7... well but then I took like a month and 100h to finish it on give me god of war and played 50% of the game with armor level 1 killing hordes of level 6 wolves.

Congrats Sony, insomniac and marvel.i really hope Sony let Santa Monica make a captain America or a thor game with the same production budget and quality as God of war.

I predict the game will end up with at least 5 million before year's end. When they do the inevitable GOTY edition that includes the DLC by this point next year I think it will sell 7mil Lifetime. It will be the most successful game Insomniac has ever had and I am happy for them. They are continuously rated one of the top 10 places to work in US, have a sharp pedigree in the industry, they deserve it.

This will also open up quite the door for them with working with Disney. Many might not know this but Insomniac has 2 studios. One in California, the newer one in North Carolina. They really didn't seem to have enough work to support having two studios. Several of their last endevours were complete busts or just not largely successful, like FUSE, Song of the Deep, or to a much less negative extent Sunset Overdrive. but this changes that. Spider-Man 2 is all but assured to happen with them now. I love that they are seemingly able to do this without being controlled by any one publisher. Publishers have too much say in what goes into a game, it is indicative of an industry that has far too many "me too" games. Like every game being a MOBA or Battle Royal these days. Them being allowed to work with what they like is very beneficial.
