Forums - Sony Discussion - PUBG rated for PS4 in Korea.

PUBG is the best batte royale game out now. Good that PS4 can play it.

Too little, too late. Fortnite, H1Z1, CoD Blackout, and BF1 BR have all already made this game irrelevant. Bluehole spent too much time crying and trying to sue others over a genre they don’t even own, instead of developing and optimizing their game. Doesn’t help that they promised no MT’s during early access, and almost immediately went back on that and added pay to win MT’s. That’s why even with the XB1 playerbase added, they’ve been dropping in concurrent players. They’re currently at less than a million, from the over the 2 million they were once bragging about. Not releasing on PS4 at the same time as XB1 was a grave mistake.

PS4 didn't have early access back then either. Similar situation with ARK.

Finally

But with Fortnite taking over completely and COD's battle royale Blackout launching in under a month, this will sell a fraction of what it could've done if it released simultaneously with the XB1 version. I hope they got A LOT of money from Microsoft.

Not to mention h1z1, Battlefield v and the rumoured red dead.

I find it interesting that many commenters here seem to imply that PUBG's time is coming to a close. It is still massive, with a million concurrent players. Even if it loses half of that by the end of the year, it will still be in the top tier.

Certainly, launching on PS4 a year ago, when it was the leader in the BR genre, would have been a bigger deal than launching this fall, in a more crowded field. But, it will almost certainly still sell a ton, even if CoD's BR turns out to be a game changer. There's room for more than 2 major players in the BR space.

Well even though I don't care about this game, considering how much it is being looked after in other platforms it may do good numbers on PS4.

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Ark had a 1 year timed exclusivity deal on XB1. That’s why it released as soon as that deal expired on December 6, 2016. Still as an early acces game. The final game came out on August 29, 2017 on all platforms. PUBG has a 1 year timed exclusivity deal on XB1 as well as revealed by Bluehole and PUBG Corporation.

There was and is a bunch of early access and in-development games on PS4:
7 Days To Die
Ark: Survival Evolved
Atom Universe
Darkest Dungeon
DayZ
Don’t Starve
Fortnite
Gwent: The Witcher Card Game
H1Z1: Battle Royale
Paragon
Realm Royale
Subnautica
The Tomorrow Children
Warface
Etc.

I didn't think they would allow PUBG on PS4 since it would directly compete with H1Z1.

There is room for more than 2 major players but Fortnite is already on top. From what I've played from the COD BR it's easily the best version of BR so far as well as being almost exactly like PUBG minus the bugs. People are saying PUBG's time is coming to a close cause it's losing players left and right in a genre that is only getting more and more crowded by the day.

The good thing is the still have time to turn things around. The bad thing is from what I've read they'll never do that.

well ill give it a go. I think Fortnite sucks. but im willing to try PUBG for a day to see how it is

My main issue with Fornite was the building aspect. It was stupid and seemed random as hell in a game like this. H1Z1 is really good though and I enjoyed that on PS4.

That's false, mt's in PUBG can not give you an advantage in gameplay. Stop spreading misinformation, please.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.
