Forums - Gaming Discussion - If Sony and Microsoft offered a $20 a year plan, would you buy?

Doesn't Sony offer voice chat/friend invites for free anyway? So yeah, if they were to suddenly put those behind a paywall I'd be pretty fucking pissed!

If it didn't affect the free features and was just losing the PS+ games (most of which have been garbage since the PS4 released anyway) then yeah, that would be great.

These past 2 years have been pretty good honestly when it came to ps+ games. Mgs5, until dawn, Bloodborne, destiny 2, Darksiders 2, just cause 3, mafia 3, ratchet and clank, duex X, lbp3, tearaway and more.

Easy answer.

No, i wouldn't buy a plan from Sony & Microsoft even for $20.

I might pay $50 for when a good game comes out on PS Plus, but otherwise I keep the $20 option.

Nope, I don't play online.

I would rather they do a 20 USD plan only offering the PS+ games and discounts.

But I just want to point that Sony would never do it (neither online only, free games only)

When PS+ was only about getting free games and discounts they had about 2M subs on 80M consoles, now with MP behind paywall they have 35M subs.

So they charge 60 because people pay it and use the discount and free games as only an "excuse" for justify the price, so making it 20 for the online only they would only lose money. The subs wouldn't become 3x higher, their cost wouldn't become 3x lower or nothing similar. So why would they do it?

I can quite understand why 33 of the 35M would jump to it in a heartbeat, but no reason for Sony to do it.

heh, despite being able to have gotten those games for free in the past few years I haven't played a single one of them. None of them appeal to me.

The pre-PS4 era when we got games like Mass Effect, Far Cry, Assassins Creed, Borderlands, Red Dead Redemption, Sleeping Dogs etc was much more appealing.

You're crazy. Some of those games are must have games and brilliant. Like until dawn (highly recommend this one, it's underrated) and Bloodborne

nah, i love games with gold, plus i keep them if i dont sub anymore. unlike the competitor.

This is only for 360 games though, not X1 - unless something has changed recently.

i also havent let it expire, i just remember hearing that, if it is just x360 games then that is news to me. plus expired and made alot of room on my hard drive.

No, I don't play online on consoles at all, so that would hold no appeal for me.

Like many, I get the free games. I even download them. I have so many of my own great games to get to, I either already own the one they're giving away or I have something better to play. The games may be free but my time is valuable!

No, I'd just keep buying the normal XBL Gold membership.

Nah. I prefer all the goodies PS+ comes with. But, I wouldn't be opposed to them offering such a service. Might get those who don't pay for full price Plus to jump in and bring them extra revenue.
