Personally I do not really get your stance or that of Bristow

I got what I wanted out of it. I won.

1.) Deleting my cloud saves after I have unsubscribed? Why Nintendo??? Sure, Sony does the same thing, deleting them after a whole 6 months, and Nintendo offers a grace period as well. We don't know how long it will last for Nintendo, but we know it will be worse than Sony's grace period. Why? Because it's Nintendo. When have they ever been less anti-consumer than Sony?

2.) Online gameplay? Locked behind a subscription service? But it used to be free. Free! I wasn't even aware of this until they sent me the email a few months ago. Why wasn't I notified sooner? All my friends were super confused too. I told them that it's just like the Playstation Plus service but they replied that the Switch doesn't have Destiny. Thanks Nintendo.

3.) NES games? Who cares? I've literally never played a game from before 2005. Why would I? Why would I play online multiplayer on an NES game? Do NES games even have online multiplayer? I never saw that mentioned in any AngryVideoGameNerd videos.

People have mentioned that the service could become better. Could become is not good enough. Nintendo has had two years to figure this out. When has an online service ever gotten better after it launched? Remember Playstation 3. When did that get better? Oh right, it didn't. Thought so.

That is why I'm selling my Switch. It sucks because I am such a big fan of Smash brothers. I really wanted to play it. But the Switch doesn't even have good online. Or Netflix. Or Hulu. I'm going to sell my Switch and buy a 4k TV for my machine the PS4 pro.

4.) But it's not too late. With the power of the internet, we can make change. Even the suits might listen to us.

That's why I'm asking you to sign my petition:

https://www.change.org/p/nintendo-make-nintendo-give-us-free-online

and this one too would be helpful thanks:

i hope you guys take the time to consider the truths i spoke today. thanks for your time. love and respect.

1.) The why is probably because they stack up after time. I can remember that about half of my Wii U storage became savegames late into it's life. Some games have savefiles of over 100MB per save. Saving them forever costs Nintendo lots of storage space, which is also the reason why Sony deletes them after some time, too.

Microsoft has lots more of own storage space, so they're much less in need of storage space, hence why they don't delete savefiles.

2.) Yeah, should have come from the beginning for sure. Or at least last year September and considering the launch months as test period. Launching it now is really bad timing.

3.) Well I highly suggest now it's high time that you try out some of those games before selling your Switch. NES had some very great games - just be careful, games were a lot more difficult back then in general.

As for the Online Multiplayer: No, NES had no online functionality. And with what, Internet didn't even exist yet at the time and the Arpanet was more on business and Universities. However, they had loads of Multiplayer games, be it co-op or against each other, and up to 4 players at that. Also, many old magazines had highscore lists for the more popular games, sent in by their readers. That could now all be done online if no one is there at your place to play with you.

4.) Of course Nintendo could do a lot better. But don't expect them to back down on something their competitors had been running for a long while now without many complaints; in fact I remember how many were urging Nintendo to do something like this to improve their Online. That petition has virtually 0 chances of success.

I couldn't agree more, Nintendo makes great games but are greedy as can be, they take years to drop the price for there games even if they arent selling that great they still dont drop the price.

They tried to make Sony's work their own and thank goodness Sony got away and proved someone could offer us a lot more.

Umm...no.

Sony and Nintendo both were greedy in the Nintendo Playstation deal. Sony wanted to claim licensing fees for all games on the Nintendo Playstation. That would also mean Nintendo's own software when the deal was only supposed to be hardware related. No other company wanted to do this with hardware deals like Sega and JVC with the X Eye. Nintendo also was greedy and back handed with licensing fees back then. So you have 2 negatives that obviously tore the deal apart. So yes, Nintendo wanted CD Technology of their own but Sony wanted to claim licensing fees for software they didn't own. It was never meant to be and it worked out the best for both of them. Let's be honest here.

Some argued in hindsight that Sony did it on purpose to get the necessary know-how for a console from Nintendo that way without risking having to commit the hardware for them

aside from that they are selling ports of old games at full price. i cant of even think of one company that does this

Wow Alchy XD

Never knew you could bait so many people. I mean, you even got QR lmao

Have fun with playing Smash Bros. on PS4 ^^

I don't know which one's more funny; the people taking the bait or the fact that Nintendo do in fact have a fairly long history of anti-consumer behaviors and policies for real.

Good job though, regardless.

Eh, they made a Zelda last year, so they were in the clear again for 5 years in my book. Still 4 to go!
