Well said! And great that you are staying with PS4! Great games are coming!

It sucks for Switch owners to have a library practically filled with old ports (greedy Nintendo forcing double dipping behavior).

Well, PS4 also has its share, but at least they receive brand new games from AAA 3rd party companies like Assassin's Creed, COD and others yearly sports and racing franchises.
It's nice to have new IP', variety and powerfuI  HW. I absolutely love PS!

I have the theory that the Nintendo Switch is the "revenge" of Nintendo. Man, these years of Wii U were pretty hard and now they are like: "They abandoned us with the Wii U, well, we are going to bring all the games that are worth the Wii U and we will sell them at full price, motherf***ers !!!! full price !!! "

"Free online? Fuck that, we will start charging and give nothing as value added worthwhile, we could give away the games of our best console (SNES) but we do not give a shit what you want !!!!

"Bundles? Bundles my ass, I will not cut a single dollar in the bundles"

"To lower the price of my exclusive games? Nah, I want to squeeze every dollar out of your pocket"

Being honest, I would do exactly the same as them!

you could try and convince your local TV shops that their TV models which will almost all feature a 3.5mm headphone jack are being made obsolete by Apple's brave moves to remove such ports, then wait around back near the bins until they discard all their stock for new models which use lightning ports and co-axial instead for exclusive connection to apple devices or retro VHS machines.

In the mean time while your waiting in the back alleys you could find other fun ways to earn a new TV and a hot meal all in one!

Where do you get those great ideas from? , you must tell me more about them later, I have to run seems the delivery mans here with my TV.

Tried your idea out on a number of local TV shops , came back later no binned TV's , but lots of binned headphone ports, went into the shops to see row after row of TV's with now wireless written on taped over holes.

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

Nintendo told everyone it was coming well in advance, even delaying it and its significantly cheaper. Not sure how it can get more digestible than that

Paying $399 for a console then paying $60 for online seems quite a bit more congestive.

Im not talking about money. The price isnt the issue with Switch Online, on a base level at least.

With PS4 online, it started with the launch of the console. Additionally, ppl were already paying for PS+ because of the monthly game service. So it was launched alongside a new console and part of an existing subscription service.

With the Switch it is neither of these. its being introduced into an already established console and is a new thing. And on that level, it is obvious why some ppl might annoyed with a service that seems underwhelming. you are right, it is cheap. Price isnt the issue... but honestly why would I want to pay online to play Splatoon 2 or MK8 when I have already been playing both of these on the same device already without an online subscription?

That is what I am talking about. The financial angle is something different, and I agree that the switch online is pretty much pocket change.

Switch online service was announced at launch though and was delayed. So people knew it was coming yet didn't actually have to pay for it at launch like the ps4.

If this was implemented on the ps4, it would be seen as a positive. There was quite the outrage back in the day about being forced to play online on the ps4, even some on this site if I remember correctly.

Also, not that many people were using ps+ on the ps3..... Relative to the user base anyway. It was 7.9 million in November 2014. Which would have included some ps4 users. In fact the article below says sub rates grew by more than 200 percent since the launch of the ps4.

https://www.engadget.com/2014/11/03/playstation-plus-subscriber-count-adds-up-to-7-9-million/

Which would you have preferred? To pay to play online at launch after buying an expensive console or having the knowledge that you will have to pay for it eventually? Pretty obvious answer, imo.

The only issue I have is not being able to backup saves locally haha.

The rest is what it is and doesn't really bother me for $20 a year.

LMAO, at least they are cool with crossplay

Crossplay is not a big issue. Do any of the big three actually need it, don't they have enough players on there anyways? And if not, then I guess those players have bet on the wrong horse...

Doesn't change the fact their slogan is:  "For The Player's Wallet"... er um sorry, i mean "For The Player"
