So much is wrong in these claims its not even worth making an argument... have fun over there with barely any exclusive games with real quality, enjoy the pseudo 4K thinking its on par with a $1000 computer and has more exclusive dominance than nintendo and sony

The bolded is blatently false. PC has some great strategy titles for sure, but Switch and/or PS4 blow it out of the water in terms of games library. This gen there's only 8 PC exclusives I'm really interested in, and that's if you count Civ 6 (coming to Switch), Cities Skylines (also coming to Switch), and Warhammer Total War (Obsolete now that Total War II is out.)

Then you have to deal with the fact that PC is infested with DRM. Steam, Uplay, Windows Store, and Origin are all DRM. Windows is nagware, as well as spyware.

Finally, a $1000 PC will absolutely not get you 4K, unless you are buying shoddy parts, or cutting massive corners.

Im saying an xbox does not rival nintendo and sony in exclusives in any possible way since the 360 days and the 4k in xbone x is not true 4k on high settings like a 1000+ PC so the idea of leaving sony for good to join xbox is hilarious If I was the OP i would just keep the ps4 and buy a gaming pc

Did you just say Sony are making terrible business decisions? We're talking consoles here. Of the three companies Sony have made by far the best business decisions in recent years. Their playstation business is so much more profitable then xbox and a lot more profitable then Nintendo too. I believe playstation in its entire history has never been as profitable as now and I expect their record profits to further grow. How can you possibly call that bad business?

Good job mate did that warrant a thread?

Well, we're at almost 100 posts, and I got to post gifs of people spitting. I'd say yes.

Not yet, I bought the Xbox One X back in January, and this weekend I added an XBO S to the bedroom.

I don't have any surface device or Windows 10 purchase line-up light now, but I will be looking into them in the future.

Are all these consoles just for you or for the family aswell? You must have a good job!

Me, the Family, and Freinds. I do have a pretty good job, but I also don't spend anything on other electronics. No paying $1,000 for a $300 phone every year or two. No Amazon products, no Tablets, Laptops, or PC. No cable boxes and DVRs. Between PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One X, and Switch I have only spent $1,600 on consoles for my house this decade. I have freinds that bought iPhone X last year, and are now all giddy for iPhone XS Max this year. I don't get how they can afford that, they don't understand how I can afford to have every console. I'm like, I have spent $800 on consoles the last two years, and your about to spend $1,200 to upgrade a $1,000 phone you bought last year. I don't get it.

I am not going to Xbox and leaving PlayStation and Switch behind, I am just moving my 3rd party game purchases and other entertainment budget out of the PlayStation ecosystem, and into Microsofts. I am just not pleased with Sony's current attitude, and lack of upkeep and improvement to their platform and services.

If thinking my disappointment in Sony after 20 years of PlayStation being my lead platform, automatically makes me a delusional Xbox fan in your eyes, more power to ya.

I've literally experienced none of these :/.

Me neither.  Can you explain how the OS is getting worse?  T

Constant crashing. Memory errors right and left, on both my launch model and my Pro.

Spider-Man completely crashed out twice asking for a Video Clip and brief description of what was happening when it crashed.

Every time I watch a video app, or hop on the web browser the systems lock up, and go to the blue screen for an error report.

I was hoping things would change with FW 6.0, but the same old issues keep on poping up. They arn't fixing the things that are insufficient, and they aren't brining any new features.

It just seems to be a Sony thing, because both of my Bravia's are the same way, but they crash so hard they are needing hard reboots, so I have completely stopped even trying to use the smart features on them. PS4 is much better than the Bravia's, but Xbox One X has been much better than the PS4 or PS4 Pro.

Are you ok? For the most part I don’t even get what you’re talking about. Has someone hacked your account? I feel sad for you if that’s really your opinion but hey.

I just hope you’ve ever used an XBox if you’re complaining about the PS4 UI...it’s convoluted and clunky over there and LIVE also has its downtimes.

I have had Xbox One X since January. At first I was not impressed with it, but Microsoft have made some massive improvements over the last 9 months. They have really streamlined the Home screen, and made it customizable so you can lay it out how you want. It is much faster to get to the Games, TV and Video, and Productivity App I want on the X than it is on the Pro.

On top of that the Quick Menu actually keeps you in the game or app you are using, where PS4 kicks you out. It also has access to much more system features via the Quick Menu.

Nine months ago, XBO was well behind PS4. Since then we have had two worthless updates to PS4, and 9 impactful updates to XBO. Every single aspect of the XBO OS, UI, and Services have been massively improved. Sony has just been coasting.

Sony had a really good thing going with PS4 when it launched, but others have worked hard, and caught up or surpassed them. I was expecting things to continue to improve, but they have basically done nothing since the launch of PS4 Pro and PSVR, and I have just had enough.

Sony made a few good decisions at the beginning of this generation that gave them incredible momentum. Thanks to that PS4 has gained a massive install base, and the are reaping the benifits of having 80 Million people using PSN services every month. PS4 and PSN are their golden goose, and they are neglecting them just like they did with PS Vita. Sony are making great profits right now in the PS business, but they are not making any moves to maintain this into the next generation.

The way things look to me right now, Sony is going to go down the same path of closing themselves off to the world, just like they have done with Portable Audio Players, MP3, TVs, Phones, and Handhelds. They are going to ignore the most basic features of every other device on the market, and PS5 will come out missing the most basic functions of a set top box in 2020.

Sony will be content with people using Amazon Fire, Apple TV, Google Chrome, Roku, or the built in OS top do things on their TV. In the next couple of years, Apple, Amazon, and Googles Set Top boxes will start getting Call of Duty, Madden, Grand Theft Auto, and such natively, and all devices will get all 3rd party games through streaming. People will slowly consider PlayStation pointless, as they can already play their games on the devices they already own, with cross platform play, so they can play with their freinds whether they are on Xbox, Amazon, Apple, Google, Roku, etc.. Sony will lock down PS Now to only play with other PS Now users, and it will be limited to select platforms, so even their streaming service will fail. From their SIEWWS will loose funding, and the talent will move on.

This is what Sony does. They are the king of getting people excited about stuff, having every advantage possible thrown at them, and then completely ruining it. I have watched it for 20 years, across every one of their business units. They are just never going to learn.

Microsoft on the other hand seems to have figured things out. They are making sure that the Xbox ecosystem, is tops when it comes to all things entertainment. They want people on Xbox for everything they do on their TV. They are investing in Studios, and cloud gaming.  They are making sure that even if people don't want an Xbox or Microsoft devices or OS, their content will still be available to them, and they can enjoy Xbox content with their friends, regaurdless of which platform their friends are on.

Microsoft has learned a lot with the mistakes they made with Windows Phone and the launch of Xbox One, and they have went back and fixed the things they did wrong. Now they are in a much better position going forward. I thought Sony had learned. They had Ken Kutaragi who had the vision to build a great ecosystem, and they didn't listen, and it cost them big time. They saw Steve Jobs realize Ken's vision, and Apple become the most profitable company in their consumer electronics. They witnessed Microsofts failures, and what they learned. Yet with all of this publicly available knowledge, they are continuing down the same path they and others have failed at time and time again. Fractured busniess model, infighting, and closed off to the rest of the world.

Didn't you also buy two big Sony TVs, one of them for $10.000?

I bought an $800 43" for the bedroom back in 2015, and then I replaced my 7 year old TV in the main room with the $10,000 75" in 2016. That was something I had been saving for for a very long time, and it is used by a lot of people. We have people over for events all the time, and I have probably had 3 or 4 times that in free food brought over, so it was a gift for everyone. But, yes, it was a bit extravagant.

Ofc we are due to the distribution of people on this sub.

So basically you are leaving Playstation because they haven't followed your farfetched desire of PS4 OS on their TVs and phones? Ok then.

For me consoles is about playing games, so if PS5 launches as a offline only, gaming only device I wouldn't care about it as long as the games there are great.

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Ah here how can you call their Doom with the ps5. You know the main reason why ps4 had way more hype then xbox one at launch? Because Sony gave the ps3 so many good exclusives the second half of the gen while Microsoft severely neglected it happy to be tied with Sony. Now this gen sales have been a disaster for them vs Sony. But the tables haven't turned in terms of games. Not only did Sony start the first half off much better in terms of games the second half has started exceptionally with games like God of war, detroit, spiderman, dq11 already with many more top exclusives to come.

Now Microsoft despite needing to seriously improve have had a really bad gen compared to Sony in terms of games. And the second half is nowhere close to Sony. So how the hell will Sony lose to xbox when the next gen consoles are announced? They'll have a crazy amount of goodwill after another generation of good games whereas Microsoft will be at an all time low. With the exception of forza Microsofts top exclusives like halo, fable and gears has lost selling power whereas Sony have now got new mega sellers to take into the ps5 gen. Uncharted, tlou2 port, ffvii remastered, god of war 2, horizon 2, spiderman 2 and death stranding potentially.

And remember Sony started the ps4 gen a little slow because so many developers released ps3 games late in the gen. Can't see that happening this time. I also can't see developers going exclusive or timed exclusive to the next xbox the way sunset overdrive. Rise of the tomb raider and titanfall did. So to conclude i just can't comprehend how Sony don't seriously dominate over xbox next gen.

Lastly xbox x released a year after the pro and a good bit more powerful. So it will be harder for ms to make a big jump to next gen if they want to keep the price at 400. Whereas Sony can easily make a big jump over the pro for 400. They hold all the aces.
