I can't understand why there are so many people who rate this direct with 8+. There was actually no big AAA game annoucement.

If some people rate this direct with 10/10 how much points would the Sony E3 conference with FF7 Remake, TLG and Shenmue 3 deserve? 25/10? lol I guess by the poll that most of the voters are Nintendo biased.

I know it’s difficult, but try to empathize with someone outside your comfort zone. Consider for a moment that folks who watch Nintendo videos, buy Nintendo products, and prefer Nintendo games might be content with Nintendo’s offerings, and don’t require “AAA” games to be fulfilled.

We have so many demographics and constituencies here on VGChartz. Make an effort to respect — or at least understand — those who think differently from you.

Nintendo fans are quite happy with the direct...... and then there is YOU...... your comment was very unnecessary! If you have no interest then dont even come to Switch related news. Your history shows it.

Pocky Lover Boy!

I got to say a 10. Just because of the variety. Digital board games I can see doing really well on Switch.

Luigi's Mansion 3... to have it confirmed in development made me so happy. So excited for it (as well as the 3DS remake).
Daemon X Machina looks like it could be pretty fun. Starlink.... Just looks so good. Super Mario Party will be fun for the holidays. Anything Smash related is crazy good.
Sonic Team Racing. Mega Man 11. Pokemon Let's Go.

My student debt will have to wait a while.

Hey remember when some of us were up in arms about another Luigi's Mansion game going to 3DS? Ahh....good times! Now we're finally getting a console version of the game since Gamecube. I'm excited!

8.5 out of 10. The Online stuff was the only real disappointment. Everything else was fantastic!

Pretty much exactly this.

My biggest gripe apart from that is still no Tokio Mirage Sessions port

I was hoping for more info on Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and an announcement of a new Golden Sun game (because it was recently trademarked). I got neither, and was uninterested in everything they showed, so I have to give it a 1.

People hate Nintendo that much that they're going in and voting it 1?

Come on! I know this is a video game forum, but you anti-Nintendo fans can't be THAT petty =P

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I normally defend gaming presentations from the fact that most of their games won't release for a long time. It's a presentation, you rate it on how well it sells you on the brand and the products, on how well it presents stuff to you, not based off a release date chart.

But you come in here, and brag about an E3 conference which is more than 3 years old, where only one of the three games you've listed is even fucking out, all for the purpose of what ... ? Trolling? I mean I don't think you were trying to troll but you definitely knew what you were doing when you wrote this post. You knew how it would look, how people would react. But you did it anyways. That's just as complicit as a troll.

Sony's E3 2015 and 2016 are legendary. But why did you list those and not 2017 and 2018? Oh, I know why. Because those conferences were boring. They were feeding us information that for the most part we had already known about. And were 2013 or 2014 really that much better? No. Sony's direct wasn't an alignment of the stars, it was a calculated business measure, and one they couldn't replicate more than twice. They happened because they came at the perfect time in the PS4's life.

Comparing a random direct to very specific Sony E3's is just odd. But sure, I'd only rate this an 8.5 and I'd rate those higher. But the difference is not that drastic when you take into account the differences in what a direct is supposed to accomplish versus an E3 presentation.  Both were very good at what they do.

I've got to say, this poll is surprising me.

Nintendo fans are usually pretty good at calling these things for what they are and therefore end up bringing the number down by a full point. The fact that the largest number of votes is going to the "9" rating is pretty crazy. Of course, this is probably because most fans managed their expectations and the meat of this Direct truly defied them.

The real surprise for me, though, is that the other fanbases don't seem to be attempting to rain on this parade. Certainly there are 6 votes for 1's, which is just objectively impossible. That's cool...every poll needs an option to steer away the haters. Some of those even may have picked the 3's, and 4's. But given the legion of Sony fans on this site, it would seem they are at least voting somewhat positively, otherwise the bottom and the top of this poll would be identical. It's great to see support and recognition on content alone without the usual biases in many forums.

Bottom line, though, is that this wasn't E3. There was nothing to win or lose for the other companies. This is just a Direct and it means nothing. What it does mean, though, is that Nintendo fans will have a great 2019 regardless of the genre they play. It's a good time to be a NIntendo fan and a great time to be a gamer. At least for the time being this hobby is about games and game announcements and not about polygon counts, terraflops, or gpus or cpus. It's about quality product being developed across the board that would make gamers from yesteryear's heads explode.

I think you need to calm down. This is a direct, not E3. And besides that, you don't decide what AAA is.
