7.5/10

Basically what I expected. Started with a big accouncement, ended with a Smash character and an even bigger announcement. In between some minor new announcements, 3rd party games and extra information about already announced games. Also stuff about the online service in the middle, cleverly hidden in between the announcements.

Not anything that made me super excited, but solid Direct overall.

8.8 really great Direct, probably one of top 3 Directs ever.

AS usual these directs are turning out to be solid and much better than their E3 showings. 8.5-9 is a fair score. They've also made 2019 quite impressive.

Isabelle: she had to leave as being called to take part of Smash! Epic!

Switch!!!

I would have to give it a 9, mainly just for Animal Crossing and Isabelle reveal. That was enough to satisfy me but they showed so many games! Whilst most of those don't interest me, i'm sure they will others and will also help to build hype for the console. 2019 is indeed looking like it will have something for everyone! Luigi's mansion 3 looked pretty darn good too.

ANDY MURRAY:- GRAND SLAM WINNER!

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

I honestly wish this Direct was the one they had for E3. It is a solid 9 from me.

Here is what I enjoyed:
+Luigi's Mansion 3 (I really enjoyed Dark Moon on 3DS and I am looking to play the 3DS port of the first game)
+Animal Crossing
+Final Fantasy blowout
+Daemon X Machina details
+Towns (new IP/game by GameFreak)
+Kirby Epic Yarn for 3DS
+New Super Mario Bros U (I know its a port but...I need my 2D Mario fix)

Here is what I did not like:
-Nintendo Switch Online being limited only to NES games. Honestly, I would not mind either paying individually for games from systems beyond NES (like SNES, N64, GC, etc) or paying a higher subscription fee.

I'd give it a 6 personally.

Liked:

ALL FF love
Luigi's Mansion 3
Animal Crossing
Town
Daemon X Machina(even though we've seen it already)

Disliked:

Pretty much everything else.

It was a 9 for me, but maybe I'm being generous: there are so many things that they “could hypothetically” have announced, especially with regard their Online offering, that you could definitely make a case for a lower score. But I just look at it and think that they exceeded what anyone could have asked for on the Final Fantasy announcements; they had Civ VI (preannounced of course) & Skylines; I'm kind of thrilled at the new tabeltop games; they had a solid Mario announcement (and a Luigi game too); Animal Crossing; two new special system packages; the new wireless NES controllers. That's more than enough ... and Yoshi is looking great, and Starlink looks okay.

Port beggars are probably a bit disappointed, no Metroid 4 or Trilogy, nothing much on Smash (though that is almost here and wasn't the business of the Direct), No Persona or Shin Megami news, no Bayonetta 3 news, very little to excite Pokemon fans about Let's Go, not enough on Mario Party, very little for the hardcore retro fan to go nuts about. Yes, you could make a case for a lower score but I was happy enough with what we got.

8/10. Many games, but my favourites were missing: Super Mario Maker, Pikmin, Yo-kai Watch, 2D Zelda, Itadaki Street.

Don't get it why they ported New Super Mario Bros. instead of Super Mario 3D World.

Katamari and Final Fantasy for a Nintendo console were a positive surprise though.

An 8/10 for me. Some really solid games really showed, but I lower my score a bit just for that online presentation. But a really good direct all thing considered.
