This reminds me of a couple years ago when PS4 started getting a bunch of Dragon Quest ports and spin offs (DQ 1-3, X, Builders, Heroes 1/2) after years of not being on Sony platforms which led to a major mainline title.

I'm hearing FFVIII has some legal issue attached to it which is why it's the only one not remastered at all. This is an interesting indicator of SE's future approach as they really want the userbase to catch up on the series, I doubt XV mainline will be ported but I wonder if this indicates VIIR could with it being on UE and the deve team restarting development from scratch earlier this year.

Yup, like I said on another thread, Switch is becoming an RPG haven, really enticed by Crystal Chronicles.

Pocket XV and Chronicles we knew about but good lordy did we get bombarded with some FF love. Was almost overwhelming lol

I'm with you, man! FFVIII is definitely the best in the franchise for me! I remember coming straight off of FFVII that THAT was probably my most hyped game of all-time! I don't think I will EVER be more hyped for a game ever again. And the fact that it didn't disappoint was something truly incredible. I even had the FFVIII playable demo with its original music.

Geez, the fact they didn't release this on HD yet is baffling. FFIX and skipping VIII??? Seriously WTF??? FFVIII was more popular anyway.

No. "Eyes on me" is important in its own little way. I couldn't imagine the ending to FF8 without.

I just kind of don't feel the game would be the same without it.
