It finally happened aye? Square releases FFVII on a Nintendo platform. And perhaps on cartridge too. The irony..

Yeah only took two decades but the irony is real with this one

It only took nintendo 21 years to get cartridges big enough, and economically viable for it to happend!
But your right I do love the irony that when it does happend, its on a cartridge.

Nintendo 3DS had 8GB cart sizes.
CD's were 0.7Gb. FF7 had three of those... So...

Good, we're closer and closer to a Super Mario RPG true sequel.

All of them are already available on so many other consoles and/or already very old games. Would have been something special if they announced something new.

I would buy quadruple dip on FFIX if they brought back the 2 player coop feature like in the original.

But thats a point, Nintendo platforms did not have main FF game from SNES, so we talking almost about 25 years without main FF game on Nintendo platform, so SQ announcing so many FF games coming to Switch where we have 4 main FF games is huge thing for Nintendo platform.

The GBA and DS games didn't exist?  That 3D FF III and FFIV was just my imagination?

The Switch I get these games coming to, but Xbox One makes little sense without a very sizeable moneyhatt.

FFXV and FFXIII trilogy sells like 5 to 1 in PlayStations favor... JRPG gamers just do not seem to reside on Xbox in the way they do elsewhere.

Microsoft must be paying them for them in order for these to be even remotely viable. Even if so, it is a smart acquisition. MS is trying to break the trending culture of them only catering to a few genres.

This are not brand new games, this are ports, and ports are cheap, they will easily make profit even on Xbox.

Yes but a port of a port of a port has a tendency to shrink in scope.

FX/X2 came to ps3 and psvita> then PS4 and pc > now switch and Xbox.

Double dipping is certainly a thing, some will buy it.... again  just for tweaks. If any are going to have this effect I imagine it will be the portable friendly Switch.  There is virtually nothing the XBOneX can offer in upgrade to such an old game to warrent yet another rebuy. i'm just questioning the potential for it to be of any significance as it's been done like 4 times now.

The again...Skyrim has been repurchased like 3 times over which is also baffling.

The ports are more of a business statement than anything else. The great return of FF to the Nintendo platform, which I always was what was being hintted by Cloud being in Smash. Xbox proving it can have a Japanese games following and isn't just dude bro culture anymore.

Greatness Awaits

PSN:Forevercloud (looking for Soul Sacrifice Partners!!!)

Okay so I have never played a final fantasy game in my life (besides on the SNES classic for about 10 minutes).

Which one is a good place to start for newbs?
