It's funny how all of the people here are making fun of the op without having any points to contradict what he is saying.

That's because you are telling the truth about the current situation with the Switch and I completely agree with you.

Nobody needs to provide anything to dispute what hes saying, sales speak for themselves.

Hes talking about his personal feelings/interest of the system and its games and using that to decide what the mass market appeal of the system is which has proven over the years to be a terrible way to judge anything.

Yeah, the Switch probably won't even outsell the Wii U.

Im hoping this is also a joke, but in case it is not, maybe read the 9 pages of replies, a lot clearly point to how the OP has his head up his arse.

In 2019 Nintendo is releasing Yoshi, daemon x machina, Pokemon gen 8, town, Luigi's Mansion, animal crossing, and fire emblem. There's nothing wrong with Nintendo's line up there's something wrong with you. It's like if I said the PS4 sucked because I personally don't like most of their line up

Here is one point.

He states he is only buying two games this year; Pokémon Let's Go and Smash

He then states there are only two games worth getting next year; Luigi's Mansion and Animal Crossing

Pokémon main game comes out next year, so that alone makes his statement bullshit unless he is one of the few people in the world more excited about Let's Go over the next mainline Pokémon.

Funny how you are pointless as well.

I am. There are only a handful of interesting games coming out to the switch. If we count the amount of Nintendo games coming this year and compare it to one of the main Wii U years it will be a similar amount of games.

Okay, I don't think that logic is sound. It is not a similar amount of games. Switch software is selling very well, it's getting Wii U ports, on top of new games. I don't see how this can be portrayed in a negative light unless you don't like Nintendo and Japanese gaming which yeah, Switch is mostly focused on. The software that Switch has gotten and is getting blows the Wii U out of the water.

Wii U didn't get any Final Fantasy games that mattered, no real 3D Sandbox Mario Game, Luigi's Mansion, Animal Crossing, and Switch versions of Wii U games are outselling the Wii U versions. It factually can't be worse than the Wii U. This is a direct in September, Nintendo isn't going to show their whole hand in one direct. The shear amount of games shown in this direct is more than enough to sell tons of software and hardware. Gamefreak's new RPG, Pokemon, Smash, Yoshi, all before the second year is up. 2019 is already shaping up quite well.

If you're a western gaming fan, you probably are not a fan of this direct and in all honesty...you should own a PS4 or Xbox. Switch is not getting most western PS4 and XBox Games. I mean, what do you think would have made the direct better?

When is Switch getting a Final Fantasy game that matters?

As far as the rest of the post, I don't think you can argue success, but criticizing Nintendo for not having a great lineup this year before Smash is a pretty valid complaint. Not sure why he'd use the Wii U as a reference point when we know what is coming. I think I shouldn't expect too much from OP on this though. Nintendo has done things to shore up their first party offerings in 2018.

Well, it's subjective. There are a ton of people who are excited about the FF games that were announced, FFVII on Nintendo matters to a lot of people. Wii U just got FF1, FFII, and FFIII. That's nothing compared to the games that were announced for Switch yesterday. FF games that were not on Nintendo platforms, and now they are...it matters to a lot of people. Zodiac Age just launched last year on PS4, this means a lot to Nintendo fans who never got these games. And...it isn't going to stop here.

Arguing that it has had a poor lineup is valid, I've said that in numerous posts. But again, that's subjective. Switch software and hardware is keeping up with PS4 even with the poor software support, but obviously a lot of people are engaged in the software on the Switch even if we aren't. Complaints are always valid, it's pushing that as a fact that gets kind of gray especially when we have quantitative data that supports the fact.

I said earlier in a different post, have your opinion, that's great.  But the fact of the matter is people are buying software on Switch at a rapid pace compared to the Wii U.

Considering that there are a lot of games being released and that they are receiving much better 3rd party support I hardly see OP being the case.
