Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo Did Not Learn Anything from the Wii U's Failure.

You are Crazy. Lol. There are tons of eshop games every week. The 3rd party flood gates are just about to be opened and each year looks to be bringing more and more. It isn’t Nintendo’s fault you aren’t into the FF ports, Katamari, Strategy games, digital board games, Yoshi, retro online games, Mario Party, Jrpgs, or Indie titles. Get your fire up and buy a few things, you’ll see there is a lot more than you are giving credit. I own over 100 Switch titles already and there are still about 20 or so I don’t have the money for right now. You either invest money and time into your console and have fun or you don’t and feel like you never play it. I also have PS4 so as not to miss out on the other 4 or 5 blockbusters it has a year. Stop complaining and enjoy the ride.

Edit: This topic is obviously a troll thread, but I don’t mind being baited once. Lol. Some things need to be said.

LOL, that's a good one, man. Hahahaha..... Oh... wait... Y-you're serious?

Well, let me just take a quick glance at sales, current library, and upcoming games to see how well your argument holds.

Yeah, not very well.

Wait, is this guy is trolling or he is serious!?

It seems someone took a wrong turn and now we're pretty far away from the cliff. But we'll get there. Some day.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I'll agree that 2018 has been a weak year. I've purchased exactly zero Nintendo games on Switch, and just one third party game.

Also, as a WiiU owner, I feel a bit slighted. Many of the early first party games have been re-releses of games that Nintendo loyalists already had. That's not a good way to treat the Nintendo faithful.

You cannot be serious about this. Even if 2019 were barren like early 2018 was, Smash and Pokemon alone could carry the system to a healthy holiday season. When you take into account games like Yoshi, Daemon X Machina, Diablo 3, Civilization VI, Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing etc, the only emotion that can naturally come is sheer awe.

Just watched hte new direct a.d i was very dissapointed. Bought a Switch a few months ago and got some games from last year like ARMS, Splatoon 2 and MK8D. The only games i was looking forward to before the direct were Pokemon and Smash. Now the direct is over and im looking forward to Pokemon, Smash, Luigis Mansion and Animal Crossing. That's only two other games i'm excited for and thats honestly really sad. That would mean by the end of 2019 i would have only bought two Nintendo games in 2018 and two in 2019. I feel like the switch is showing early signs of being another Wii U. There is a lack of interesting games. I think that the Switch might be even worse than the Wii U because a lot of it's games and upcoming games are games i already have on the Wii U, boring indie games, and games that will run better on my Xbox One or PC.

I know saying the switch will fall off a cliff has become a meme but honestly a few months after Smash Bros comes out I expect Switch sales to drop off a lot because i'm expecting the big games like Metriod and Animal Crossing to be late 2019. I feel like early and mid 2019 will be as barren as early and mid 208 but the only reason the Switch has sold well in 2018 is because its still a new console but in 2019 the new console hype will die down and sales are going to drop unless Nintendo picks up the pace. They need to stop with the remasters, gimped third parties and give us interesting Nintendo games. The only reason a game like Octopath Traveler sold so well was because Nintendo had no games this year.

Wow, LMAO

Smash Bros is going to lighten the mood when launched. I think the Switch has some of the best games this gen plus the inclusion of older titles helps bolster the quality line up.

LOL. No. Numbers speak louder than theories. With next year's lineup and, potentially, price cut, Switch is going to explode in 2019, meaning that the peak is ahead of the Switch. That puts this console on the same sales curve as DS, Wii, GB, NES and SNES, so in this 50M+ (ish) group. WiiU isn't even in the same galaxy as Switch.

Nice try. They actually learned a few precious lessons, that you wasn't able to notice. Mainly regarding their marketing and third-party approach
