WB ruined the DCEU the minute they trusted Zack Snyder. DC characters are so good and wealthy in stories but WB wanted to rush everything. Seriously why on Earth would you start a cinematic universe with Superman killing someone and an old Batman?

They obviously didn't trust Zack Snyder as they completely fudged with 2 of his movies. WB is the issue.

This a sad day if true. I loved his performance as Superman and Man of Steel is one my all-time favorite superhero films mainly due to him.

Really? What did you like about it? The hilariously misguided attempts at moralizing? The wanton destruction? I mean, it really wasn't a good movie except visually. Had it been anything other than a Superman movie it could have been good, but as a Superman movie it pretty much failed in every way.

What, you don't like Supes adopted dad saying it might have been OK for him to let children die, just to keep his secret. That's totally Superman from the comics. /s

I watched the Reeves' film not too long ago. Damn, that movie still holds up today. It felt more like a Marvel film from today. Take the character seriously, but not to the point that the DCEU did, while also not bastardizing the character's core beliefs for the sake of "drama."

The DCU movies were bad and Henry Cavill was bad in them, unsurpring he's out

Michael B. Jordan as SuperMan would be sweet tho

"Michael B. Jordan as SuperMan would be sweet tho"

why? because he's black?

Zack's movie's wouldn't have been good regardless if they meddled or not. The narrative and creative ideas he choose for the start of the DCEU was idiotic.

Yo, I currently watched the first Superman movie too, for the first time, and I was blown away.

In your opinion. But what made them so idiotic?

Clearly there is a good amount of people that liked Snyder's vision. The support for a Snyder cut of JL is proof of that.

Superman sucks. I have never seen a single movie with the character (other than the Lego Movies) . He is so boring and uninteresting. The DCEU is a disaster. I promised I would not watch any of their movies but I saw Wonder Woman because I wanted to support female directors and superheroes. Didn't like. They should burn down the whole studio and start over.

I think Henry Cavill will make a good James Bond after Daniel Craig though.

This is a studio with one of the most incompetent suits I've ever seen running a cbm franchise. It's beyond baffling that the extended universe came to this turmoil the moment they started pandering to critics. They should have only focused on another MoS follow-up instead of investing in multiple joker movies. I'm done with the franchise. Cavill's Superman was my last reason to stay in. I think DC should separate itself from this crappy studio as a complete autonomous unit.

To start a cinematic universe by making Superman kill someone and having a old veteran Batman was the worst way to start. Those stories are endgame or during their prime. Superman shouldn't have been put in that decision till later on. Batman being old was idiotic because they skipped over many iconic and popular stories that would've netted so much money. And he choose the most bare bones lineup for a JL team.

A Snyder cut of that travesty wouldn't really be much better than what made it to screen, I think the hopes that it would be better is more a grass is greener type thing, as in, it couldn't possibly be worse than what made it to the Cinema could it? like... just by complete law of averages it would have to be better.

Regarding the current state of the DCU there is a really good video on youtube I seen regarding it, it's just on Justice League but really while it's a long video he goes into each area that it fails at.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6b3Tjd92dFo

here is a time stamp to a particular bit of interest if you don't fancy a long video to see the main points he is making in the video.

https://youtu.be/6b3Tjd92dFo?t=16m58s

it's a cool breakdown though.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Any attempt to make decent SUPERMAN movie since 1978 has been fucked. The Superman curse lives on.
