That's quite a naive perspective. Ignoring an issue isn't going to make an issue go away.

Naive? Hardly. I am a minority, I know exactly what I am talking about, don't assume my naivety when you have zero clue about me or my background.
There wouldn't be an issue if people weren't making a big song and dance about it. (Both for and against)

RolStoppable said:

A good current example of that is the indifferent attitude of the government towards neo-nazism in a certain German county and that has allowed neo-nazism to become more prevalent. As the saying goes, evil triumphs when good men do nothing. It's easy to say that all issues would disappear if every single person on this planet would be perfect, but you should know that the world doesn't work this way.

Way to conflate multiple issues.

Also, it's clear from the short video that Morgan Freeman is upset because of something else, namely the suggestion that he should be happy about the existence of the Black History Month.

The point that he is trying to convey is that there wouldn't need to be a Black History Month if people would stop focusing on various individualistic descriptors and started treating and seeing everyone as equals... Because at the end of the day, we all bleed the same colour of blood.

RolStoppable said:

The point he is really making is that there shouldn't be such a thing as a Black History Month because that's reverse racism; essentially, Black History Month came into existence to give credit and acknowledgement to black people, but Morgan Freeman rejects that.

It's far from reverse racism. He wants equality.

RolStoppable said:

He doesn't want to have Black History Month because it treats black people as a special kind. What he wants is that black history and American history are seen as one and the same, because that way the color of the skin becomes irrelevant and that's what's necessary to put an end to the fixation on skin color.

And I fully back him on that.
Just like I believe all these LGBTQI+ "pride" events to be rather superfluous.
People need to stop pointing out their skin pigmentation, gender, sexuality... A person is more than those individual descriptors, they are human beings and should be treated and seen as the same as everyone else.

RolStoppable said:

What you take away from the video is really not what he was getting at.

That is your opinion. I strongly disagree.

I use this logic, try to spread it but it always falls flat. Not sure if it was Morgan Freeman who imparted it on me but man did he word that brilliantly and it comes off as wise beyond, even his years then. It's almost like it was a script written by a Tibetan monk. I often forget he is intelligent and godly of camera as he is on it.

Morgan Freeman just has one of those "personalities" which allows him to get a message across rather eloquently.

I'm a long serving black member on this site and I'm sure this is just an other ploy by Rol to get moddship. Don't believe his lies

We have taken your concerns onboard and will cite' them at a later date.

Yup, Morgan Freeman is exactly right. And he is one of the people who should know as well, not some random white guy.

This current SJW way of seeing people as groups and dividing them by their superficial characteristics is actually extremely counterproductive to weeding out racism and and other ills. Not only is it an absurd and frightening return to racial segregation (very literally in some cases), it actually *is* all those things that they accuse other people of. It's racist, sexist, homophobic and such. People are seen as groups instead of individuals, and that's actually pretty much the definition of racism. It only serves their worldview of victims and oppressors that they need to keep rolling, or their bottom will fall off. all this is based on some Marxist theories heavily applied, it's a whole can of worms in the academic circles that you can look up on Youtube if you like. The real world does not reflect their twisted view of things. These people need to keep talking about race and such and fanning the flames, because otherwise it might just happen that people forget about race and other similar characteristics, and treat each other as individuals.

That's great for the 5 black people in your country Rol, but Austria has more issues with discrimination against Slavic and muslim immigrants like Turks. I want to know how you feel about those groups.

I guess you have it more dry than in Brazil where almost everyone is mix race and our statistics love to use race to distort things. Like same person, if in prison is black, in university is white... to the point where even if we have about half the population on darker tones of skin they will say they make like 90% of prison population and 10% of university (even if in real life it would probably be 60-40 or at most 70-30, sure the darker population is more concentrated on the low income and prison inmates than the average would suggest but not as much as the "studies" point out).

Love you, Rol. You're probably my favorite people on this site

Wait... are you saying Rol is more than 1 person? How many of him/her/it are there? :O

I rush typed that response when my wife was in the bathroom! It used to say "one of my favorite people" amongst about 75 other typos (because Rol isn't one of the best. He's THE best.). Thought I caught them all.

It is NOT just SJW's. It's everyone that does it.
Morgan Freeman is also Left-Leaning and has such common sense.

Rest of your post I agree with.

Yay, the internet is good for sonething!

I'm black and I can tell you that there is no such thing as "how black people act". We are people just like everyone is people and are as varied as any other group of people out there. Thats one of the coolest things about being black is that you can be or act however you want. Black people are more accepting of others. We permeate all cultures. We don't all get along. We are smart. We study all different subjects. We have the biggest Ds (lol). We are awesome students. We are awesome athletes. We are competitive. We work very hard. We can be lazy. We have the best sex. We love to dance. We don't bake as fast in the sun. We can be summon aggression on a level you can only dream of. We run the spectrum from gangster to President. Some of us have issues. Some of us struggle but we are in general repulsed by ignorance. Being black is awesome! Yes there is historical hardships and reasons to be upset with being black (like not having any ancestry if you are American) but all in all I wouldn't want to be anything other than what I am.

Today is the one year anniversary of when I commented it was clear to me that not a lot of people on this site have had much actual interaction with Black people. Clearly, that is still the case. I default think of everyone on the internet as a white male as well, and I find that to usually be true. I guess it's all about mindset. I hope you all continue to come accross chill Black people in your lives, haha.

Happy anniversary! Anything you'd like to share? I'm curious as to what it was. As specific thread, a few different posters.......Help a brother out! Brother in this instance meaning human male.

It was a specific thread about PewDiePie using the N-Word on a live stream. The thread got shut down within a couple of days, and he had nothing but defenders on this forum :/

You don't have to listen to them and just try to ignore them. I know it might be hard to believe but I suspect most of the western world treat people as individuals in their everyday life, this is just a fable spread online that people are racist. I live in Ireland, the first black man I seen in this town, besides a doctor or consultant was about 18 years ago and now it is filled with people of all races and not once have I seen racism between black and white nor has it ever been, besides for some Muslims who bring it with them.

Just ignore them and treat people as individuals and they'll fade away if yoy don't feed them.

I can certainly say I've never dealt with racism, or atleast I don't think that's the reason behind any of the many antagonist I've dealt with. But yeah, white/black/gay/straight/male/female/etc. are all irrelevant labels used by lesser minds. I think the only two that actually matter in terms of judging one's character are asshole and non-asshole.
