Nintendo and Microsoft fan bases do exactly the same thing, as does almost any other fan base.

I agree, i mean god of war doesnt look good at all,its not like its been hailed as the best looking console game ever,same with horizon and uncharted 4,even a simple multi platform game looks better.

First of all, why are you bringing MS into this discussion. Second, I'm not sure of your serious or not, but nobody talked about Sea of Thieves or State of Decay downgrades because there was no downgrade. Sea of Thieves looks exactly like how it was advertised. State of Decay actually looked better at launch compared to when it was initially shown. Show me where these downgrades. 

Oh I agree all fan bases do it, but Sony fans always seem to be overboard with it from what I've seen. This thread kinda proves part of  my point in a way,the point  that people find ''no way at all'' that Sony would downgrade their games or do wrongs. That's just my perspective of the whole thing though.  As stated previously, all the big companies downgrade their games, its not a new thing and its not a trend that any of the big companies will stop any time soon.

I would agree with this all the way.  All of the big companies are guilty of this.

However Sony kind of asks for criticism.  It tries to distinguish itself from Nintendo especially by saying how much better the graphics are in the Sony games.  I personally think the graphical difference between Sony in Nintendo is minor, and at the same time I really don't care about these graphical downgrades compared to an E3 presentation.  But a person who is going to nitpick Sony vs. Nintendo graphics can also nitpick when their is a downgrade compared to E3.

Well there's nothing wrong with being confident in your own companies ability or games. They're supposed to boast and hype their consoles and games,even what they say isn't true.  That's the nature of marketing, basically they're all glorified car salesmen when you think about it. I don't have a problem with Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo or others boast about themselves/or their games really.

You’re overblowing it, kind of how those who complain about the downgrades overblow it.

I frequent gaming forums and websites and I remember the downgrade talk for Uncharted, which was justified, and Spider-Man, which seemed silly and idk if it was justified or not. I don’t remember anything for God of War or Horizon, or Detroit. Not saying they didn’t exist, but it must have been extremely small.

Forza gets this talk every Motorsports game. Halo saw it. Console warz makes people post stupid shit.

I've noticed that too. Then you have games like zelda which are heavily downgraded from the initial reveal and it gets no such shit show.

Till this day when I play Horizon Zero Dawn I'm amazed at how well it looks. I can't even imagine what it looked like before the "downgrade".
