Nike money sounds good though...

Does that mean if you do not die, you have not sacrifice anything.  Or are you saying you must serve in the military in order to be considered sacrificing anything.  Just wondering because anytime I hear someone talk about sacrificing something they throw in pictures like this.  I guess the rest of us must be trash then if this is what it really means to sacrifice.

Anything and everything are not the same word.

Guess Nike doesn't know about "go woke, go broke". Alot of sports fans are mad over the NFL becoming more political and the viewership is dropping. https://www.forbes.com/sites/jonathanberr/2018/08/28/the-nfls-ratings-probably-will-continue-to-decline/#6a072b026666 The NFL has finally stopped them from kneeling and won't touch Colin. ESPN has gotten political and as a result, there ratings keep dropping/losing subs. https://www.outkickthecoverage.com/espn-loses-500000-subscribers-april/

Don't these dumbies know that sports viewers are mainly conservative except with certain sports. 🙀 What possessed Nike to do this...

They made an inspirational ad.  The 'Just do it' campaign isn't new.  Its about fighting through adversity.   These are noble causes and stories mentioned in the ad.  When you see black people, in general, does it make you angry?  Would it be better in your opinion if black people were denied the right to free speech?

What kind of race baiting questions are those, Sharpton? Colin didn't do any of that for some noble cause. He's an idiot who made some piss poor excuse for why he was being disrespectful to the country.

The backlash just symbolises blind loyalty. But there seems to be a good number of people who just don't want to hear about it. They would say, protest in a different way - but how exactly? To some people it appears to be 'unpatriotic' to highlight issues that dampen a belief of so ething that is believed to be perfect, an obsession some people seem to have taken to practically religious extremes.

Im am curious however. If I was to wear a blindfold during the anthem, as a symbol of blind loyalty, how would that be received?

"protest in a different way - but how exactly?"

Not in the middle of work.

To give ones life for a cause many would consider 'sacrificing everything'. Of course, just because you don't give up your life doesn't mean you're trash, it just means you were only willing to go so far.

Going back to the Nike ad, I find the wording unfortunate. Did Colin really 'sacrifice everything' when he's got a big marketing deal with a huge corporation like Nike?

I could say more but I'll leave it at that for now...

Where are these questions coming from? They feel so out of left field.

Kapernick's kneeling during the anthem was a fine protest against Trump and against racism. Kapernick is a freedom fighter and a modern day activist against racism.

remember kids, at the end if the day Nike is just a faceless corporation that sells overpriced shoes to idiots who have no idea what the value of a dollar is. and youll keep buying them anyways just because your head is so magically far up your own ass that youre convinced having a swoosh on the side of your shoe makes it better

Well. I have a pair of Nike Foamposites that I bought years ago... Most unco' pair of shoes ever.
But they look cool. But $400 AUD cool? Depends. Cost is all relative, the more you earn, the less a price will concern you.

Also want to get a pair of these eventually.

People who normally accuse others of being easily offended, get offended. Again.
What else is new.

Pretty much!

But actually destroying your own Nike clothing that you paid for?

It's stupid and wasteful. There are millions of people going without basics and people are literally burning this stuff... Why? Because they are offended.

I think you are actually reading a little to deeply into it.

As a firefighter, we put our lives on the line as well.
However... You can sacrifice your time, health and well-being as well in other jobs, which can be just as equally important depending on perspective.

Just because an individual has passed, doesn't mean their heroism was any lesser/greater than someone who has survived.

Good on him for voicing his stance. More people should do it.

Nike getting political is stupid. The response is stupid.

There is a lot of stupid going around at the moment.

I was referring more to someone willingly giving their life for a cause. This is different than risking ones life.

What is his stance? I don't even know. I do know he's a face on a Nike ad about 'sacrificing everything'.

Basically. I'm utterly baffled at the stupidity and immaturity on both sides of the whole dumb ass "kneeling" thing. Virtually NOTHING about either argument is logical and nothing about this whole fiasco makes any sense. I'm starting to believe this whole thing is just a ploy to further divide our country and "pit the masses against eachother" so to speak, which is truly disheartening for me to see, especially over such an idiotic thing.

On the other hand, Seeing as I despise both the uber patriotism and uber phony social justice bs in America, it is quite amusing to watch both of these short-sighted factions duke it out.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident - all men and women created by the, go-you know.. you know the thing!" - Joe Biden

It's kinda funny really. If you think about it, if the people that this is targeted at took that advice, things would be even worse. It kinda sounds like the exact pep talk suicide mass murderers get.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Nike is going to sell more shoes to African Americans I guess they have calculated the loss and the probable profits of this move.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar
