Forums - Nintendo Discussion - 2K happy with NBA / WWE’s performance on Switch, will continue support

2K is dead to me.

Around the Network

Nba 2k was a great port. Yes, it was only 30 fps and graphics were very meh, but it included every single feature that the PS4/XBO version had.

WWE on the other hand.....

Well if WWE did indeed sell well, I respect them for not releasing 2k19 at all rather than do another sloppy port to gain a quick buck.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

I'd respect them more if they did right by all the customers who paid for a broken game, by releasing a sequel and making sure it wasn't broken this time.  Short of that, WWE2K18 should have been fixed.  If that wasn't possible, a working sequel should have been forthcoming.  On the one hand, I'm glad NBA2K19 is coming.  On the other hand, to have done absolutely nothing for the people who paid for WWE2K18 (no sequel, and no fix for the broken game they released) is extremely lazy.  The fact of the matter is, they are still accepting money for WWE2K18 when they have acknowledged how bad the game is.  No matter how deeply they discount it in the eShop, they are charging money for a broken game that they have no intention of fixing.  That's not respectable.

Well yes, this is true. They should at least de-list now to prevent more people purchasing the game.

I'm glad that Bethesda and 2Ks games are doing well on Switch, apparently EA's games as well. At least well enough to be profitable.

NBA 2K18 wasn't a port

**** you, where's my GTA?

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

They better be happy with WWE, from the sound of things they hardly put in any effort.

They're happy with its performance? I'm fairly certain he can't be talking about technical performance unless the man is actually a troll in human skin.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

WWE2K19 could have happened, if WWE2K18 had been a competent port.  End of story.  Whatever sales 2K got from the abysmal garbage they put out last year (strictly referencing the wrestling game, as the NBA port is fantastic), would have been far greater if the game hadn't been a broken mess that they never bothered to fix.  The game has been over 50% off in the eShop for most of this year.  Even then, I didn't bite because I followed the news like many others that the game was barely playable and 2K had pretty much abandoned it from ever being patched into competent condition.  2K's position of "we don't want to release a sub-par version" has an easy fix to it.  Craft a playable version and release that.  NBA2K18 has 10 players on the screen in constant motion with arena crowd in the background, and it plays wonderfully on Switch.  Blind Squirrel proved incapable of even managing to have a single wrestler walk down the entrance ramp without suffering significant slowdown.  There is "0" excuse for that aside from a sh*tty job by the developer.  As the old saying goes, "It's a poor craftsman who blames his tools".

What i was trying to say was that, no matter how bad the first game, if they believed that Switch was a platform they couldn't live without, they put either more effort into making it happen.

I don't disagree with you: it was a bad port. Simple as that. Whether the developer had enough time and couldn't do better or it was a rush job to get it out on time.

Thats a quite reaching, "going from we are happy with sales and we will contine support" to "Switch is a platform we couldn't live without" are totally different things, your post dont make sense at all.

To put you simple, they had quite negative backlash with terrible port (maybe they dont have time that could make good port), and they decided to pass this year with game, dont act like they released every of their IP on Switch so that this comes like big surprise.
