Honestly. I don't care about the "SJW agenda" or even the "Anti-SJW agenda". - I have more important things in life to worry about than how someone is offended... And so should you.

My problem with it is it's starting to feel like tokenism on a mass scale. It's not just "we need a black guy" anymore. Now they need to make sure they cover everyone, and if they don't then they're sexist/racist/transphobic/homophobic. The humor is also suffering because a vocal minority and saying that certain jokes cross a line and insult a certain group of people (and often the ones complaining aren't even part of the "victimized group").

There's a proper way for inclusion, but you can't include everyone in every movie. Not only would that make for a large cast off people who likely add nothing to the story, but it would take resources away from actually making good characters . I'm not saying characters from minorities can't be good characters, though; I'm saying that when you're so focused on making sure you have all of your token characters for virtue points, you're not going to be spending too much time on character development.

But the biggest problem with this mass tokenism is it is devaluing to those ethnicities to simply include them for a quota. I mean, that was a huge point in Kelly Marie Tran's op-ed: Asians aren't your background characters to include for virtue points. (On that note, had anyone noticed how Hollywood has been making less and less Asian-starring movies? There used to be tons of movies that starred Asians, but I haven't seen one since the last Rush Hour movie)

As far as the kids scene in TLOU 2 is concerned, I was only disgusted when that other girl wiped her nasty, sweaty face on the main character. I threw up in my mouth a little when that happened. Otherwise, I have no problem with the actual kiss. It felt no more cringey or forced than literally any other kiss in gaming.

A conspiracy theory, where a thing you don't like has to be explained by a shadowy cabal of individuals conspiring against good traditional value.
It is pretty meaningless since "SJWs" is a bullshit category you can lump anyone into.

It's "the Jews control the media" , "degeneracy of Western culture", "cultural marxism" etc. but with a more nebulous buzzword

An SJW agenda in games would be forced diversity and blatant political statements.

Yet most people here will freak over a woman in a game or really stretch games to make them seem as if they had an SJW agenda. Persecutory delusion.

So Capcom had to include white zombies in RE5 while you won't ever encounter so many white people in Africa.

Not true as far as I remember. Do you have some screenshots of the white zombies they inserted after the critizism?

Well, when I think of skin in RE5, I can only remember this:

Push of narratives that seem forced, like making a medieval game in Europe and putting quotas for woman, black, asian, gay etc as character even if greatly against what was the demographic. To focus story on progressive narrative instead of making a great game.

I never use that term, but Battlefield is a good example of rewriting history to make it fit with the morals that some people have today.

Like making Achilles or a British Queen black.

Or like making Jesus white (looking like a Middle European instead of Middle Eastern ethnicity)

Well ... if you are not aware both Middle European and Middle Eastern are same race - white. And what alt right supporters think will not change this fact.

@LuccaCardoso1
Imagine someone making a film about the life of Martin Luther King and placing a white blond Swedish female to play the role. There will be a revolt in some neighborhoods, believe me. There is no problem having woman in video games or movies, there is a problem when you put them just for the sake of it. Examples how to do it right in games: Diablo, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, Beyond Good & Evil.

Dragon Age: Inquisition had more or less the demographic profile of the modern United States despite being set on a medieval copy of Great Britain and France, and inexplicably had modern atittutes towards transsexuality etc. as well.

Of course, the writers are free to make up a world emotionally appealing to their political views (since I believe indulging in idiosyncracies make fantasy more unique) but don't expect it to be free of criticism, specially if it looks dumb and strains suspension of disbelief.

That's the sort of thing that irks me, when it's absolutely forced and silly.

For the Ethiopian Church, Jesus is depicted as being black. It's normal for Jesus to be depicted as the same ethnicity as those who design the image.

Same thing with Buddha being eastern Asian on its statues despite being a first millenium A.C. upper class northern Indian, meaning he probably looked more like an Iranian or Russian more than a modern Indian or eastern Asian man. He's even reputed to have had golden skin and blue eyes.

I don't think any of that is rewriting story or any of that shit.

Mods: sorry for the double post, the quote system was somehow broken on my browser.
