Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why do male gamers whine about female characters in gaming? especially about Battlefield V?

Seriously if you watch Battlefield V's videos on Youtube in nearly all comment sections you will see people whine and complain about "SJWs". How fragile is your masculinity if you feel offended or threatened that a private company is going to allow gamers to play as females.  There is an argument made that there were no female combatants in WW2, this is absolutely false as there were thousands of them especially in the Soviet Red Army. And even if that were true,  games are supposed to be a form of entertainment they are not meant to be historically accurate. Most people do not play games for a history lesson.

You're completely missing the point, especially with that pathetic "fragile masculinity" nonsense. People are finally starting to be fed up with anticultural communists destroying our culture, civilization, values and societies. People in the West are finally starting to take notice of just how destructive communism is (as if every single past example wasn't enough... smh). The way EA presented this issue, the way the CEO voiced his opinion made it clear that we're talking about yet another brick in the wall. It was clear this was part of the ideological warfare that's ravaging the whole White Man's World and people are treating it accordingly. This has nothing to do with "men not wanting women in games", since such a claim is simply stupid and not even worth debating. This is a part of something much, much bigger than gaming and while most people aren't aware of the real scope of the problem, at least finally they are aware that there is a problem.

I feel like the ones that are calling SJW's intollereant are actually intollerant themselves and they need to really chill out.

Define "tolerance". There are at least 3 completely different definitions of this word in use and they actually are mutually exclusive.

da fuck are you talking about in regards to communism!?

a private corporation trying to milk the SJW tit for what they expect to be good publicity is the furthest thing away from communism that you can get. if for some reason EA is going to share their revenue with the people or giving their workers representatives some seats in the board of directors, then we could start talking about it

I'm just as sick and tired of right wingers trying to label this PC culture as somehow exclusive to the left (and using buzzwords like communism and socialism) when the original PCs throughout the ages were right leaning people, with the left leaning people being regarded as the counter culture all over western societies.

You're part of the problem.

You're resorting to personal attacks.

It's a personal attack to point out that your attitude is feeding into the very thing you apparently want to destroy?

Well you could've put it better than "You're part of the problem.".

No matter how I put it, it doesn't make you less of a part of the problem.

because at the end of the day, thats what they want, and its all just a marketing ploy. by shoehorning in a female protagonist they can market themselves as "a company for the future" that is supportive of all genders and does not discriminate. that splits the audience into two groups - those who are happy about it and those who arent. those who are happy about it buy the game and make EA's wallet just a bit bigger. as for those who are unhappy, EA can hide behind an invincible wall of "youre just being sexist" and not have to listen to any legitimate criticisms about the game

im all for having a female protagonist. i just want them to be likable, believable, and well written, same with any other character. but this is just a coward move that once again shows how disconnected EA is from the gaming community

You can start by not advocating that people that spout opinions you don't like should be "shut up". It's a pretty dangerous idea.

No, they're not. They're just massively amplified by people who wine about them.

Because we're struggling for a way to shut them up.

Feeding attention to people who crave it doesn't solve anything. Try the opposite.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Wow you clearly don't get what that was all about

You just called people who disagree with you "misogynist fuckboys" and you're falsely accusing a person of making personal attacks. Projecting much?

I'm all for shutting up misogynists if it would shut up the social justice warriors along with them.

We're gonna need a lot of duct tape.

You should go to wal-mart and pick up several rolls then look into a mirror. You won't have to look hard to find who to start with.

I didn't mind the TLoU 2 kiss.

I think it was provocative art, and not just a lazy way to jump on the LGBT/feminist bandwagon.

Good art has always been provocative, there was always a political and/or ideological statement in art, and Last of Us really fits into that because the first game already had strong ideological themes. And it was just two women kissing, why do people care so much?

As for the rest of your comment, I won't even acknowledge it by answering it. But I guess now I see why you care that much about that kiss ...

I don't mind two girls kissing. I even watched lesbian porn last night and that involves a LOT more than kissing

It's about the message behind it: ''Look how tolerant we are towards LGTB's. Now praise us.'' Yes, we get that now. Good for you. Unfortunately every game developer and movie director wants validation for it. It will be a matter of time before we play as a transgender. Maybe even a character who is a woman and male at the same time! That would be tolerant as hell.

Your arguments are ridiculous, first of all, it is completely stupid to refuse something, because you are imagining that it could lead to something else.

You know what, don't buy the game with the transgender,  or whatever gender/non-gender will be in fashion at the time, it will be another discussion.

And my god the "I watch lesbian porn" so I'm not homophobic excuse, are you for real? Are you joking here? You do understand that, you, picking and chosing where lesbians can or cannot be, is homophobic ? "they can do porn all they want, but they better not be in my video games" There is something seriously wrong with you buddy.

And if I'm being honest I'm really not pro anything, I think the whole gender/transgender thing is getting way out of hand. But I can see the difference between someone calling themselve gender fluid, someone making a bad movie and putting a feminist sticker on it like ghostbuster and Ocean's 8, and just a studio trying to make an interesting character that resonate with our times. Lesbian characters is not something new at all, there is nothing offensive about it and I don't see any problem with Ellie in TLOU 2.

What you see as some kind of SJW crusade, I see it as just people trying to break video game conventions.

i dont know, never really cared what gender the character is.

i like having female characters as a male gamer.

i think bfv issue is no one wants to play ww2 games right now. and the dev said some stupid things as well. plus the EA factor doesnt help.

with a new tomb raider, gears, and tlou2 having female characters, never really gave it much though other than, wanting to play them, well most of them, some just dont interest me as a game i would enjoy due to gameplay.

looks like the usual rabble rousers are at it reading some of the above posts. people need to chill out ffs. just dont buy the game if it means that much to you. your not going to change anyones mind, just make a bunch of posts with garbage slinging.

edit: cant we all just get along?
